And Slava - I think it's obvious that Bass is not in the Lakers long term plan.

Wait why though? Maybe I'm not as plugged in as I used to be but who is saying Bass is on his way out?

I figured as much. Funny guy though.

I wonder if there are some locker room issues affecting Black's playing time.

I'd prefer Black get backup C minutes. He's just more physical. Bass can't get the job done.

While I hate the use of the word "agenda" (mostly because I don't think anything is ever as nefarious as that word makes it sound)... I do wonder why Tarik isn't at least getting a few minuets a game on a team where the only other back up center we have is Sacre.

I know people are making this out to be a Bass vs Tarik situation. But Tarik is a C and Bass is a PF (Even though we play him at C). No reason both should'nt be seeing minuets. Especially against bigger front lines. I mean is he really playing that poorly in practice?

Black has a very specific skill-set. Which is another way of saying he's very limited...

His forte is playing C on a team that gets up and down the court and isn't in half court sets too much. He's like Turiaf-lite or Jordon Hill without the mid-range...

His ceiling is probably C for the second lineup. Plus he's a C in a PF's body... And not a terribly big PF either. Which is also to say he's a PF with questionable skills, so he plays C to get PT.

And I like him... I just don't understand what people are seeing in him that I'm not. The fact that Sacre plays more is certainly not on my list of Byron Scott questions.

Bass shouldn't be playing center, ever

Black should basically getting all those backup minutes (well, Sacre shouldn't even get on the floor)

While Black doesn't possess the ideal height of a C, he does have the strength. He's underrated as a leaper, too. He gets off the floor well for his size. Even if his ceiling is only that of a backup C, that's at least one less position we'd have to worry about, IF BYRON WASN'T FREAKING PLAYING BASS AT CENTER!

And there are others who seemingly mirror the opinions and feelings of moderators without contributing a unique or interesting thought of their own. Don't be concerned.
