Twitter loving Zhou Qi's measurements, hopefully LAL talk to him.
He's gonna have to go to the right situaton or he'll likely be a bust. May even help him to stay in China another year and be a stashed plyr as he continues to add weight.
By seeing pictures, his frame has come a long way but he does look like he could handle another 20 lbs but im not sure how he'll perform with the added muscle. He's going to need it to rebound and protect the rim at the nba level. I think a high rebounder with strong physicality like Randle or high athleticism like Nance will help ease his transition as i think certain aspects of his game look like they'll translate well like gis jumpshot which seems to have a nice quick enough release and good release point as well as rotation. He'll be a solid help defender as he's light on his feet and looking to deny the inside lanes especially looking for blocks, which he seems to have good timing on.

Los Angeles have a 55.8 percent chance of keeping its selection, which will be conveyed to Philadelphia if it falls out of the top three as a result of the 2012 trade for Steve Nash.
The Lakers' odds of winning the lottery stand at 19.9 percent. Those odds shift to an 18.8 percent shot at getting the second overall pick and 17.1 percent for the third.

July 15th — Last day for teams to issue required tenders to unsigned first-round picks; those players become free agents July 16th if not tendered.
September 5th — Last day for teams to issue required tenders to unsigned first-round picks; those players become free agents September 6th if not tendered
Why two different deadlines for the same task?
Which is wrong?

Update on official numbers
Highlights:
On Saturday, the NBA set the salary cap for the 2016-17 season at a record $94,143,000 – up from last season’s $70,000,0000.
For players with less than seven years of experience in the league, the maximum starting salary is $22,116,750. For those with seven to nine years of experience, the max is $26,540,100. Finally, players with at least 10 years in the league can earn up to $30,963,450.
The salary cap threshold for the coming season will be $113,287,000. Teams that trigger a hard cap, by either using their Mid-Level Exception, Bi-Annual Exception or acquiring a player via sign-and-trade, cannot spend a cent over $117,287,000.
The Mid-Level does not climb with the salary cap, set at $5,628,000 million in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The taxpayer Mid-Level will be $3,477,000 million; the Room Exception will be $2,898,000 million and the and the Bi-Annual Exception will be $2,203,000
(BRI) for the 2015-16 season was $5.289 billion. Players earned $2.346 billion in salaries and $212 million in benefits, for a total of $2.558 billion.
The players’ total share of income was just 48.36 percent, below the designated share of 50.83 percent ($2.689 billion).
The NBA will pay out an additional $130.9 million to the players’ union, to make up for the shortfall. Teams will also return the $235.8 million withheld throughout the season from players’ checks in escrow – a combined $366.7 million.
The minimum salary for the coming season will be $84,728,700
Finally, the NBA is still crunching numbers to project the salary cap and luxury tax level for future seasons. That information will be sent out to teams before July 7

After that interesting playoffs, the lottery and draft came quick. Free agency was also resolved rather quickly. So it's now a looooong wait til preseason after our short stint in summer league.
Hopefully my optimism isn't as blind as it has been the past 2 years.

Unless we find the need to use the remaining cap space, I think the date we will waive Nick Young will be after August 31. That way, his contract next year will be stretched for 3 years instead of 2 years stretched to 5. We clear an additional of 333,961 (1,889,555 instead of 2,222,517 per year). Interesting to see if this is the way we go because from the exit interviews and all of Mitch's interviews, it sounded like a foregone conclusion that Nick Young will not be here next season.

Salaries being what they are these days, I'm actually kind of surprised that an established playoff team of vets (clips perhaps), isn't willing to take on his measly 5.4 mil salary for someone who can potentially give you 20 pts off the bench any given night. I don't think a future 2nd is too much to ask.

Re: Offseason: Dates/Offseason Timeline and Finances
I'd say that after Nick and Russell's issues followed by Nick's breakup that the Lakers want to eliminate any chances of future issues. I'd also imagine that every team in the League knows this too. Why trade a pick for something you may be able to get for 1/5th the price on the open market. Nick might sign for the minimum to stay in LA with the Clips...
