Yi asked to be released

Post#2 » by PKABOOICU » Mon Oct 24, 2016 12:43 pm

Yi Jianlian has asked the Lakers to release him as he was not satisfied with his role on the team. He averaged only 11 minutes per game behind Mozgov, Black, Nance, and Randle. He will be returning to China. Yi will be waived on Monday. Thomas Robinson will take the final roster spot.

That is really good to hear. I was worried that Zubac would get zero playing time this year. This should help a little.

He must've been real upset since he could've made up to $8 mill this season.

Anyway, I prefered Thom-Rob over him by a landslide.

Awesome! Jumping with joy. Thomas Robinson is someone I've wanted on the Lakers for MONTHS.

Probably wants to lock in guaranteed money as soon as possible back in China

Good riddance. Rather give those minutes to Randle and Zubac anyways

Yeah... sounds like a money play. Probably saw that it would be a struggle to make the full 8m on his contract especially with the amount of mins he'd be getting and decided he could make more money in China.

Oh well. Welcome to the team T-Rob.

The guy's head was never in this to begin with. He wanted the glory and the money of being an NBA player for Lakers. But as his preseason showed, he was never good enough, nor did he put in enough effort to fight for his spot. He thinks he should be treated like a star, the way they treat him in China. Well, that's not happening here.

Lakers management, while I liked the way you tried to think outside the box, please stick to actual basketball players going forward when you are trying to unearth those diamonds in the rough. No more prima donna please.

He got his ass kicked in the NBA again... He's smart to be a big fish in a small pond, because he's plankton in the NBA.

Good... one less scrub team to spend my time watching. Now i can just focus on the Nets and Jeremy Lin.
