Future looks bright...

Post#1 » by 3-Pt_Shooter » Tue Apr 29, 2008 11:19 pm

I know that this topic has been mentioned before, but I can't help myself...

With the Sun setting in Arizona, the velvety Mavs in Dallas, and the Spurs getting older by the minute... the young and talented Lakers look to be the elite team in the West for years to come.

It does look bright, indeed. But the same can be said for New Orleans and Portland.

How do you envision the Lakers line-up looking next season?

I would love to see us keep Lamar, but if we can't I can see us approaching the Bobcats on a GWallace-LO swap. We all know Larry Browns man love for Lamar, and GW is a bargain at 6 yrs/57 mill. I would rather keep Lamar but I can see a LO and change for GW and picks trade on the horizon.

If I was the gm I would trade for Kirk and keep Odom but they won't. Odds are the Lakers trade Odom for Artest to make Kobe's life easier.

Either
As they are they have a great future

Bynum-Has 15 years left
Gasol- Has 10 years left
Odom- Has a good 8 years left
Kobe- Has a good 10 years left
Farmar- Has a good 10 years at least and if he is as smart as I think 14 years.

What they might do (not exact but an example of 2 possible trades

Bynum
Gasol
Nociani-Tyrus Thomas
Kobe
Ben

Or another trade they might do

Bynum
Gasol
Artest
Kobe
Farmar

What I would do if I was the gm trade Walton,Farmar,Ronny,Sasha,Radman,Ariza for Kirk and a few role players and have

Bynum
Gasol
Odom-I say keep him and let Kirk be Kobe break on D
Kobe
Kirk

Or I might really want to perserve Kobe and trade Odom for Kirk and Noc and maybe Tryus

Bynum
Gasol
Nociani
Kobe
Kirk

I would have Kobe guard the weakest player of the 1-2-3 spot and have him not bring up the ball I would have him play 32 minutes a game and have Bynum and Gasol the 1st and 2nd option until the 4th. This way Kobe can play until he is 42.

nobody is going to trade with the lakers unless it is an absolute steal for the other team
the only changes in the offseason will be whatever we get from the MLE and LLE

Dexmor?

I am glad you're not our GM

Trade our whole second unit for Kirk? You talkin bout Kirk Hinrich?...........Oh my Lord............Unreal.

Leave the roster alone...........Why is everyone trying to alter it. If it's not broke, Don't fix it.

The only thing they will do is fine tune and polish the roster......We are set at the key areas for a few great years.

I see a scrappy Laker vs Portland Jailblazers rivalry for the next 7 years. There's already bad blood between them. LMA said he was ready to fight Lamar after the "hard foul" on Roy this year.

Pau & Bynum vs LMA & Oden

Kobe vs Roy

Lamar vs Outlaw

They matchup pretty well with us. Assuming that Oden lives up to at least 3/4 of his hype

i agree. i think oden will definitely live up to the hype but they should still be about two years behind the curve since they've got all youth and no veterans. lots of experience to gain but that looks like a future rivalry.

and then throw NO into the equation.
