Chicago's Noah Arrested For Marijuana Possession

May 25, 2008 - 4:19 pm

ESPN -
Bulls forward Joakim Noah has been arrested for possession of marijuana and having an open container of alcohol, according to The Associated Press.

Noah was arrested very early Sunday morning in Gainesville, Florida. An officer saw him walking on the sidewalk with the drink, and police found marijuana in his pocket back at the station.

He could face up to six months in jail and a $500 fine.

Not sure about your proposal, first you say if they Bulls draft Rose, Hinrich is expendable (meaming Bulls keep Rose), then you say Fisher would be a good mentor for Rose. So would he stay or not. Regardless, trade idea just plain sucks. Anyhow I think Farmar is coming along nicely and will improve next year.

First of all, the Lakers haven't won squat yet. Secondly,

All due respect, but if you could have added a young Olajuwan or Shaq to the Chicago Bulls championship dynasty teams, you wouldn't? Just because they won without him? That doesn't make much sense to me. In my opinion, you must take every opportunity you can to get better, no matter how good you are already.

I wont be comparing Bynum to Shaq. Shaq as a rookie and 20 years old, averaged 22 13 and 3.4 blks, Bynum at 20 and in year 3 was 13 10 2 blks. Bynum's not going to be Shaq, but if the injuries are a non-issue he will be very good in the sense of possibly a top 5 center in the league, probably a level below Zo at best. Therefore, you won't trade him for a pg who's 27 and a hustler player whos an undersized center. the worst trade proposal of late though definitely is portland fans proposing billups for 13th pick and many of them rejecting the trade saying a late lotto pick is too much for billups

Bynum was averaging 13/10/2 in 25 minutes a game. You can do the math for 35 minutes. The Lakers were willing to trade Kobe and keep Bynum. No, we won't trade him for an overpaid PG and a drug using/open container C. But since we spent last season listening to Chicago fans offers of table scraps for Kobe so I suppose we shouldn't be surprised at this offer.

No way. Even Bymum for the 1st pick would demand a lot of discussion.

Let's not rip on the OP. It's actually a pretty good trade proposal. One of the bests actually.

Everyone knows you can't project numbers like that, but even if you did, Bynum's per 36 minutes numbers of 16.4/12.7/2.2/2.6 don't touch Shaq's 23.4/13.9/1.9/3.5 as a rookie.

But the Lakers won't be trading him either. He doesn't have Howard or Oden potential, but he will be an all-star if he continues to grow.

You also have to factor in that Bynum hardly even played basketball in High School. What was it, something like 35 games (IIRC)?

EE and the rest of the posters here could give a **** what Shaq's numbers were at 20, or what Bynum's numbers are now. They all see the potential in this kid and know that once he begins to really add to his arsenal, he's going to be scary.

He averaged 13 off put-backs and alley-oops. When this kid becomes the focal point of an offense, especially one like the triangle that runs through the post, watch the **** out.

Sorry, but you completely missed my point. I'm very well aware of Shaq's impact as a rookie. I was just trying to say "if it undoubtedly makes your team better...", you're not fixing something that isn't broken.

KEEP BYNUM.

For those of you who say we are doing well even without Bynum are simply mistaken. We are a top 5 team with or without Bynum, no doubt..but has anyone actually played close attention to the playoffs? It's visible that we clearly need Andrew. Gasol is a decent defender, not a good one. We got killed on the offensive boards by the Jazz. Tim Duncan alone is getting more rebounds than Gasol and Odom combined. Yes, we have a huge 3,4, and 5 lineup but i think it can only progress if bynum is added.
I don't see Bynum and Gasol running into eachother during games. That is why there's a high post/low post offense, or even a right block/left block offense. Gasol is a finesse player. He can't post a defender up if his life depended on it. On the other hand, Bynum is pure power. Putbacks, alleyoops, rebounding, shot blocking, and power play are all Bynum's strength. Passing, 15 foot jumpers, beating a defender off a dribble, and finesse playing is Gasol's stength while Odom is a 3man mismatch no matter what position he plays.
Expect Phil Jackson to make such adjustments, that Gasol AND Bynum are effective on both ends of the floor, be it help side defense or double post offense.
Bynum is key to success.

Red Auerbach once said "Never trade yout big man!"...so lets avoid this mistake.
