So how many FPG for Pierce in this series? (Flops Per Game)
His average seems to be around 7.4 per game in the postseason. I honestly don't believe that is good enough to beat the Lakers in a 7 game series. This is where his production will really need to improve. I don't see the Celtics having a chance unless he can up his FPG into double digits. This will be key. He has a couple maneuvers we need to watch out for:
-1- The Sack Face
We all know the look on his face when he's tightly guarded while attacking the basket. The look that makes you think someone is yanking on his testicles.
This strategy is more affective when used sparingly. Lately, Pierce has been using it on EVERY possession. This really hurts his success rate. If he used it, oh, say, every 8-10 possessions, he'll get the call every single time. Applying The Sack Face on every possession gives the officials time to adjust, like the boy who cried wolf. If he could just learn to be a little more disciplined/conservative with The Sack Face, it could go a long way.
side note: A few inhalations of the canibus sativa and the presence of overweight transsexual "women" appears to subdue such facial activity:
I checked with my sources, and neither the canibus nor the overweight transsexual "woman" appear to be available during the Finals. So we are out of luck with those options.
-2- The "Momma don't whip me!" Maneuver
Paul Pierce, along with Allen Iverson, owns the patent on this tactic. It has been adopted by other stars over the years. Here is an example of Lebron James using it on the defensive end:
Now this is a ploy that Pierce uses primarily on the offensive end. If we can all take a peak at exhibit 193.1 above, notice Lebron's reverse extension, as he projects the upper half of his body backwards. This parallels the reaction of a subject who may be experiencing whiplash in an automobile accident. Hence, The "Momma don't whip me!" moniker.
Any attempt to slap the ball, whether it creates contact or not, will induce such a reaction from Pierce. Often times it will accompany The Sack Face as he drives to the hole. The Lakers must be careful not to make too many slaps at the ball, as it may result in a phantom foul. This is a move that Pierce has perfected.
-3- "What the blood clot"
PP is not just an abbreviation for Paul Pierce, but also for a Los Angeles gang organization also known as Pacoima Piru. Yes, Pierce is from Inglewood, but IP doesn't sound as good.
This is usually a strategy that is deployed in retaliation, when the subject feels he has been disrespected. The last time he used it, the League felt this behavior warranted a $25,000 fine. If Pierce becomes a repeat offender, I would not be surprised if the league issued a suspension.
If the Lakers see this hand signal from Pierce, they need not worry. For, little does Pierce know, this criminal organization which he is representing, will be in attendance in Staples Center cheering for the Lakers. In fact, they may see it as a form of disrespect, and bum rush him on the court, and chase him into his locker room, and/or force him to play in a Bulls jersey, thereby removing him from the Celtics team altogether. This is one maneuver we can only hope the subject attempts.

So again, if PP can increase his FPG into the double digit range, then I think this will be an extremely difficult series for the Lakers. Pierce is a VERY savvy player. He is fundamentally sound and one of the best players who has ever lived. He deserves the success he is having. But if the Lakers can just limit his FPG, then I think they can overcome this great talent.
I hope we can have an open discussion on this subject matter without resorting to name calling or personal attacks. I feel it's a legitimate discussion as we consider team strategy over the next few days.
