The Ray Allen trade was certainly not lopsided. All the "experts" in the media were questioning Danny Ainge for that "stupid" trade because the Celtics were not ready to compete. Obviously, the situation changed when the Celtics acquired KG to go into contender mode, but most people thought the Celtics had gotten the bad end of the deal.

Contrast that with the reaction to the Gasol trade.

They called Boston Stupid at the time because they didnt have KG...and adding Allen to that squad would not have made them that much better. So, to that point it was dumb to trade those younder assests for a team that previously won 24 games.


People are up in arms because the Lakers were good and got better, instantly.

As far as assests for assests -- I fail to see how they were both not lopsided trades.
