Agent: Bynum cleared for return
Posted: Friday July 25, 2008 07:03AM ET

Lakers center Andrew Bynum was in Los Angeles earlier this week, working for the Lakers team doctors and was cleared for everything, according to his agent David Lee. Bynum is now down in Atlanta working out with his personal trainer. The Lakers, Lee said, have a standing invitation to drop in on Bynum down in Atlanta and see his progress. "As for the negotiations on Bynum's contract status, Lee said that the discussions have been tabled until September.

Sh*t, all I ask is that he comes back next season as good or better than before. He's young, I dont see why it wont happen.

According to the witetap, his Agent said they are shelving contract negotiations until September so the Lakers can see what they're getting. Then he said it's "very important" the Lakers sign him before the season starts.

Now I think if Bynum is fully recovered then the Lakers will give him an extension...but they really better not screw that up.

i don't really want the negotiations to affect bynum's play, so if they can't get it done before the season starts, they should end talks and pick it up after the season
then bynum can prove he deserves the money

No need to sign him this year. Because he will be playing for a contract I expect him to come out and play extra hard all year long. Plus it would be nice to get a look at the knee before we drop major dollars. Plus, because he is a restricted free agent we can match any teams offer. We need to see what he is worth on the market that way we dont over pay.
