Paul Pierce didn’t put his foot in his mouth again. No, this time Pierce digested something of the alcoholic variety and it got him in trouble with the Las Vegas police. (The video is sort of grainy). The Boston Celtics’ star was handcuffed by police early Sunday after he initially was uncooperative following a traffic stop for driving erratically on the Strip, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Bill Cassell, public information officer for the Metropolitan Police Department, said he did not have details why Pierce was cuffed but said it often happens when “an individual is loudly hostile.” He no doubt was reminding the police who was the “best player in the world.“ Pierce, a forward who is 6 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 235 pounds, “rapidly calmed down,” and police removed the handcuffs after about 15 minutes, Cassell said.

“We find this happens a lot of times,” Cassell said. “Someone is a little agitated, and when they’re placed in handcuffs, they rethink things.” The traffic stop occurred around 3 a.m. near Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue, Cassell said. Officers gave Pierce field sobriety tests and a Breathalyzer showed the player registered below the 0.08 level that defines legal intoxication in Nevada. Police did not cite Pierce for a traffic infraction.

When he mouthed off talking about he's the greatest it had the feel of the little guy mouthing off to Chuck Norris with Devo and Rampage standing behind him to back him up. Problem is that Perkins aint exactly Devo, and Garnett isn't exactly Rampage, and big bad Bynum is coming to join the party.

Wtf, you can't be serious right? They will win around 60 games.

Nah, they had a "perfect storm" season last year - guys stayed healthy, had bounce back years, 39-year old veteran pickups didn't break down, etc.

If PJ Brown had chosen the Lakers over the Celtics, they may not have made it past Cleveland.
