Houston still has a log jam at the 3 w/ Artest, Batea, and T-Mac

LO would make Houston better

Houston/ORL are nice potential suitors...

But it looks like LO wants to stay and wants another shot with the Lakers.

He's going to get it unless something "crazy" comes up.

I doubt Odom goes anywhere this season. The logical deadline to trade him was last year before the trade deadline. Now, what would the Lakers trade him for? A worse contract? Worse players? When they're already stacked and pushing into the luxury tax?

This is a grace period year, when the Lakers don't have to pay Bynum yet. They have the luxury of having Odom play out his last year here, and he's valuable insurance in case either Bynum or Gasol get hurt. He's also playing well spearheading the 2nd unit.

I still think he's likely to be gone at the end of the season (unless he or Buss does something unexpected), but I don't see what point there is of the Lakers trading him anytime soon.

They won't get a better player, and they most likely won't be able to alleviate the cap situation, so they're going to ride it out.
