Drew was there tonight, finally finishing an alley-oop from Lamar and being able to create his points.
If i were gonna note the Bynum+Gasol twin tower, i'd them a strong 8 out of 10...

Improve the defensive game and the Larry O'Brien trophy will be ours in the very near future.

I hope that was just a bad game for Sun Yue, because he looked just terrible. It looked as if he were new to basketball. Threw a number of bad passes, picked up his dribble a few times which resulted in turnovers, and just didn't provide much of anything on the court. I know he was a 2nd round pick, so you shouldn't expect a ton out of him, but man he just looked really bad. Hopefully he picks up his play.

Yes, they play tomorrow. It was going to be between the Raps and the Clippers but since the Raps won we play them.

My observations from today:

1. The unit with Farmar/Ariza/Odom/Walton/Mbenga was amazing. The best defense and some of the best passing and team play that I've seen this team play. Lamar looked re-vitalized with those guys, grabbing boards, running the break and making quality passes.

2. This game showed me how much Farmar has improved as a player since last season. He would be a 15/8 PG already if given the minutes. Excellent ball control, court vision and command of the unit.

3. Radmanovic looks an entirely different player now. He's playing the passing lines well, reading passes and making nice cuts too. He looks much much tougher. Starter material right there.

4. Kobe doesn't look tired or even if he is tired, he pretty much is still the best 2 guard in the league on those legs. Absolute beast.

5. Walton and Mihm look good. Luke got into his groove pretty quickly and Mihm was pretty solid, back to being his old self, the hop in the feet and all.

6. We need to keep Mbenga. He's much much better than any 2nd rounder scrub we could otherwise carry on the team. He will make stupid mistakes and a travel here and there but he knows how to use his body and finishes ferociusly.

Should be interesting to see how they play the Raps but we still gave up defending the perimeter at times, which was kind of a disappointment for me at times, knowing pretty well that these Euros are pretty good shooters. We need to tighten up a bit but we should blow away half the teams in the league by sheer quality and the strength in depth.

Anyone got a boxscore. I want to see the results from the guys on the fence. Crawford, Karl, Damn Sun played?, Mbenga, and that young buck PF.

Good observations J-far, I completely agree. I will say that we really need Bynum/Pau to get a lot of playing time together early on. They have a number of kinks to work out.

But that second unit with Odom/Farmar/Ariza/Walton/(Mihm or Mbenga) is really exciting. It's such a different look from the starters. If we stay healthy*** then teams are going to have a tough time matching up with us for 48 minutes.

Though I wonder where Sasha fits into the mix...does he take out Ariza? Or Walton? Personally, I love Ariza in there with Lamar & Farmar.
