Lamar is a much better fit with the 2nd unit because they understand the basics like pass, cut, pass cut and nobody holding the ball for to long. Nobody is demanding the ball. There mentality is we are all equal and nobody is above anyone.

no need to take that bait.

- odom has to come off the bench, he's just so effective with farmar/ariza and the yet to play sasha that will spread the floor. the rotation of bynum/gasol/odom is too lethal to lose by moving odom to the 3.

- bynum/gasol had their first test today. if this were a regular season game JO would have fouled out in 20 minutes. he simply can't handle bynum's size.

- bynum's off the ball movement and gasol's ability to find him in traffic is getting noticeably better each game.

- powell's activity on the boards wasn't an exaggeration. he's crazy active.

- the attacking defense was nice to see. so far they've done it selectively and its paid off. i can't recall them making a bad attempt for a steal.

This second unit is going to win us some games. I was slightly skeptical about Ariza's supposed impact but I'm a believer now. He's a special special player.

Chris Mihm and Luke Walton continue to look healthy and this team is more deep and talented than any Lakers team I've ever seen.

Encouraging to see some guys are ready to play this year. There's a different vibe to this preseason. I think it's tasty combination of confidence and hunger.

shame on you Lakers fans, the raptors board had 80 pages of this preseason game when the score was 70-70.

Well, the game was so entertaining, especially after Farmar got on the floor in the 3rd quarter !

Mihm and Walton look very good and in shape ! Ariza is killing in defense... Defense itself was at a high level, even if it's a preseason game ! Love to see Pau and Bynum getting used to each other better and better, especially those sweet passes from Pau to Drew ! Nice !

One thing is encouraging, very encouraging ! Fisher said not so long ago that the team has to improve in defense and not let the opponent get away leading by 7 - 10 points in the 3rd quarter. Well, that's what happened against the Raptors, they made a run and got ahead 70 to 63 and got lost afterwards because defense was really good, especially the perimeter one ! Encouraging.

Lamar had some sweet-clean jump-shots, like he was Sasha... Plus he's getting into shape. Noice !

Way to go !

Our first and second units are such different styles...I just think that alone is going to give teams trouble.

Also, we're very active in the passing lanes this year. So far, the new defense has worked. Other teams will surely tighten up their game in the season though.
