Game 7 Create-A-Squad...

Post#1 » by DubaLakers » Tue Dec 2, 2008 9:01 pm

Who's going to beat my team? Game 7 for all the marbles. Only rules are current players injured is fine I'll assume they are healthy, also LBJ is NOT eligible, because he called Charles stupid, he bugs me, and he looks in the mirror too much, plus he doesn't have a set position, yes he's top three in the game, so what he's not eligible, hehe... Current players, darn it, Hermes got me!

PG Deron Williams, Set in Stone, I wish he was a Laker

SG Kobe Bryant, Set in Stone

SF Tayshawn Prince, Gay, Granger inexp., 'Test screws up flow on O, holds ball too much. I'd love to put another player here, can't think of a better one for this team, Prince would be my alternate Ahhhh, I just can't do it (edited) Paula Pierce gets scratched Tayshawn is my SF, I just can't do a C.

PF Rasheed Wallace, I love the Sheed, Amare looks like a dwarf against bigger players, Dirk misses down stretch especially vs. the LAL, OT: meanwhile little head Terry never misses that mid range jumper.

C Tim Duncan ,HOF, nuff said. Off position, but he can handle it easily, he has before. D12 nice option, but he misses FT, gets a ton of TO's, plus TD can bust a three in desperation like he's Craig Hodges going 25 for 25 in the three comp.

Anyone got a team that can challenge mine? I'll post the best team IMO vs. mine then go to the people for the winner ;).

Really Hermes :)

I'm guessing we cannot use any player that you chose so:

PG: Chris Paul: Great Ball-Handler and an overall good PG
SG: Dwayne Wade: Foul-Drawing Machine, quick, good mid-range game and great inside the paint
SF: Shane Battier: Defensive Minded, Knocks down the 3 very well, smart player
PF: Kevin Garnett: Stretch the floor, Defensively dominating, Great Pick N Roll defender
C: Yao (Dominating Inside, can stretch the floor for a Center, Great Free-throw Shooter, and Long)

I have 4 great defenders, the only concern would be ball-sharing between Paul and Wade, but I feel that it would be very difficult to guard 1 of them in the game and they would really get the defense in foul trouble. I've got. And Wade is on of the best weak-side help defender.

I've got Battier to guard Kobe. KG to guard Wallace, I think his length will bother him. And Yao on Duncan, but I think Duncan will own him

On the offensive side, Paul and Wade are REALLY good in the open court. And KG and Yao will stretch out the floor, Battier will be the wide open 3pt shooter. And Yao would be very difficult to guard 1 on 1.

I feel I have a good balance in the offense and defense with no selfish player on the team.

Shobe has a nice squad, doesn't have great shooters though. Nice job Shobe.

I was anticipating that one Nicka, lol.

Chauncey Billups
Joe Johnson
Shawn Marion
Amare Stoudemire
Andrew Bynum

I still think your team is better, but this team has a very legitimate chance to beat your team. No superstars, but they are a good mix of shooters, scorers, and defenders. Billups guards Deron, JJ guards Tay, Marion guards Kobe, Amare guards Sheed, and Andrew guards Duncan.

man... you disappoint me. I'd pick Slava and Smush way before I pick any celtic (yes that's small letter "c" as in no respect) :nonono:

It hurts my P&G heart to say, but I would have to counter that line-up with:

PG Chauncey Billups
SG Brandon Roy
SF Paul Pierce
PF Kevin Garnett
C Al Horford

I'd say my team wins it in five or six games.

PG: Billups (shooter, defender, solid ball handling and great tri-fit).
SG: Kobe (Corner stone of my team, creativity on the offense and active on defense)
SF: Shane Battier (Shooter, solid defender)
PF: Tim Duncan (Solid defensive presence, great low post skills and can compliment Kobe very well)
C: Kendrick Perkins (Solid defender, physical and protects the paint, good rebounder, above average finisher)

I'm assuming one can't violate the space-time continuum:

Chris Paul (best PG)
Ginobili (2nd best SG when healthy)
Kirilenko (best two-way small forward)
Bosh (arguably best PF right now)
Howard (I guess the best C right now)

We got some old schoolers to close out the thread, nice job guys. Intead of me picking the best two, and having everyone vote, because I'll obviously be a little biased, any outsiders (that didn't participate with a create-a-squad, game 7 thread) want to select the best entry? Which one of these teams would win game 7, please see both pages of entries, lol. Thank you for your participation.
