Wow... nice.

He's the 3rd different Laker to get the award this season, so that speaks volumes about how versatile we are as a team.

Congrats, you damn hippie.

does sunday count as last week or this week? cause if lamar tears it up this week and sunday's game counts as this week...could it be 4 players?

Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James was named today as the NBA’s Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played Monday, February 2nd through Sunday, February 9th.

The Los Angeles Lakers’ Pau Gasol was named the Western Conference Player of the Week. Other nominees for the Eastern Conference Player of the Week were Detroit’s Richard Hamilton and New Jersey’s Devin Harris.

Gasol is such a professional quietly putting up numbers and just going about his business. He is the perfect workhorse-Superstar that Kobe always needed and never had.

Congrats Pau!

Congrats Pau!

He really deserved this. If Gasol was in Memphis and he was doing work like this it wouldn't be so quiet. Gasol's great performances are usually overshadowed by Kobe's performances. Like when Gasol has an outstanding 31 points 14 rebounds performance against the Knicks, it was overlooked because of Kobes 61. (not trying to say Kobe didnt deserve all the attention he got from this lol.) Fans take a lot more notice when Bynum has great performances a lot more than when Pau does. It's strange to me, but I'm guessing it's only because when Bynum has those numbers Kobe doesn't have a huge scoring game.

Well I think Bynum's age is what excites people when he has a great game. Especially after a rough start.

Whereas Gasol is the most consistent Laker we've had (not named Kobe) in recent memory. So fans come to expect this from him.

Either way, glad Gasol made the all-stars and racked up POTW honors. He's showing people who thought we were done for after Bynum's injury just how little they know of Lakers basketball.
