What a disheartening start. Detroit looked old, slow and not physical in the least....which is exactly what they are. I don't want to sound alarmist after one game but after a bad offseason and with the decision to not play any youngsters sans Smith early, and decide instead go with garbage like Bertuzzi and Samuelsson, I fear we are totally screwed.

Bruins looked good to start off the year against the Rangers.

Love seeing hockey. Love seeing Ray Bourques kid in Black and Gold.

On the plus side, at least you don't have to read TSE's posts on the Red Wings anymore.

The man who thought he could run the team better than any other GM in the league? Who thought bringing back Lidstrom was a poor investment? Who thought Holland was poor at drafting talent?

Yeah, there is a silver lining here, though that ass-whipping last night is going to sting a hot second

Apparently Niederreiter wants to be traded from the Isles. I can't imagine why....

Very bad start for the Canes. A 5-1 loss at Florida, and then a 4-1 loss to Florida in the Canes home opener. Cam Ward is not looking sharp, and the scoring threat is not very potent right now. Bad time to be a Canes fan so far. But I have faith.....I think.

0-2 Canes taking on 2-0 Sabres. Canes stake Cam to a 2-0 lead, and in 2 minutes he gives up 2 goals to tie it. Cam Ward is absolutely stinking it up so far this young season. Needs to get it together real quick or they will fall too far behind to catch up in this shortened season.

Skinner with his 2nd goal of the night and 3rd of the season. Carolina up 4-2. Cam needs to hold the lead now!

Canes win 6-3. Hat trick for Eric Staal and 2 goals for Skinner. A good night.

Canes sweep the home-home with the Sabres with a 3-1 victory. Skinner gets his 4th goal, but the story was Ellis stopping 40 of 41 shots on goal. Terrific goaltending tonight.

The Predators are embarrassing in shootouts. 1-11 this year and lost all 3. Mike Fisher can GTFO too.

Awesome game between the Blues and Wild. Parise has been playing out of his mind.

Suter on the other hand has been a steaming pile for the Wild. Not exactly what they had in mind when they gave him almost $100 million.

Yup he's been surprisingly terrible. I don't know if he's just shaking off the rust right now or what the deal is.

I think I'm gonna cry if Cam Ward does not figure out how the heck to stop the puck from getting in the net. Already given up 2 goals to Boston, and they have played on 8 minutes.
