The Associated Press is citing a source familiar with negotiations as saying the Sabres have signed non-binding letter of intent to purchase the Amerks. The AP is reporting a sale could take months, and would likely happen in October.

The Sabres would offer no confirmation, but did reaffirm that they are "looking at all aspects of the organization, including the AHL affiliation short and long term." Sabres President Ted Black said as much last week during an interview on WGR Sportsradio 550.
