Rate my team

Post#1 » by ajaX82 » Sat Sep 15, 2007 7:52 am

So i know the NFL and NBA boards do this, so i figured i would try and spur the NHL board on

1. (9) Alexander Ovechkin LW
2. (16) Ilya Kovalchuk LW
3. (33) Marty Turco G
4. (40) Marc-Andre Fleury G
5. (57) Henrik Sedin C
6. (64) Martin Havlat RW
7. (81) Steve Sullivan RW
8. (88) Ray Emery G
9. (105) Nicklas Backstrom C
10. (112) Brenden Morrow LW
11. (129) Saku Koivu C
12. (136) Ales Hemsky RW
13. (153) Sami Salo D
14. (160) Andrej Meszaros D
15. (177) Ruslan Salei D
16. (184) Brent Seabrook D

That is my draft, standard scoring, 12 team yahoo league, 9th pick of 12

I think i look good because Ovechkin fell to me and Kovy is money for goals, while Sedin is a lotta assists while keeping a good goaltending core. 3/4 of my D-men put up 100+ PIM last year too, so that will help

Thoughts?

That is a pretty sick team, although you are weak in the D department. Scoring D-man = Scoring RB in FF.

Thank you.

About the D-men: Its always been my philosophy to not draft d-men til the last rounds. They dont give you enough points. Im counting on my forwards to take care of that.

Which is why i got guys with lots of PIM there. To help with that. Ive also learned that most defenseman come out of nowhere. Last season i did the same thing (didnt start til last 4 rounds) and eventually picked up Shea Weber and Matt Carle, who were top-20 this year. Someone else will appear...
