That is overpaying for Rubio, he may not come over for 2 seasons anyway.

That would be a definite no, although I like Bayless and would have preferred to have received him as part of the Camby trade at the trade deadline.

I don't like this one, because of position fit with Courtney Lee and I don't think Yi Jianlian would add much with Griffin and Smith playing at PF.

Yi is nothing more then an expiring contract in this deal.
Courtney Lee could be sent to a third team or replaced with something like CDR and the 31st pick.

I'd rather have Lee over CDR/#31, assuming T-Will is off the table.

^^Yeah I figured that. I think your GM would likely feel the same way as well.

It's not a horribly trade for the clips. You wouldn't trade EJ and Kaman for Granger? You should.

I'll admit though, I started with the highball offer.

How about you keep that minnesota future pick? Granger, Hibbert, filler for Gordon, Kaman, 8?

Or, you keep the 8? and give us the minny pick?

Granger, Hibbert, filler for Gordon, Kaman, future minny pick?

That's a pretty solid team there - Davis, Jones, Granger, Griffin, Hibbert, with Jordan, the #8, and one or 2 FAs filling out the bench. Solid.

pacers start the rebuild, maybe move Kaman elsewhere, and hope that Minny pick seroiusly pans out.

I just wanted to revive this thread, because I kept thinking about this idea. Pair this deal with #8 for Iggy, and the Clippers can run out a lineup of Baron/Iggy/Granger/Griffin/Hibbert. I really like that lineup, if the Clips don't sign a big name FA.

If the draft goes badly for GS (that is, Wall-Turner-Favors-Cousins-Wes Johnson are off the board at #6) I'd entertain a trade down from #6 to #8 so you can grab Al-Farouq Aminu (who is supposedly drawing interest from Detroit at #7).

Something like #6 (Aminu) for #8 (Monroe/Udoh/Aldrich) and a future top 10 protected 1st?

How about this 3 way trade....

Phi Trades
Thaddeus Young and Lou Williams and a top 15 protected first.
Philly receives
8th pick and 2011 2nd rnd pick

Clips trade
8th pick, 2011 2nd pick
Receive 12th, 25th, 28th and a future first round pick from philly

Memphis trades
12,25th 28th picks
Memphis Receives Thad Young and Lou Williams.

Clippers can then take Paul George, and fill up their roster with cheap rookies, plus have two first round draft picks next year.

Memphis gets Gay insurance, plus a hometown player in Young, and they get a PG who can push Conley and even start some.

Philly gets the 8th pick, who they can use on Aldrich or whoever.

Memphis trades 3 1sts for Thad & Lou? Too stiff don't you think?

Maybe but if that's too much you can take out the 28th pick.

It's only a late first you can get those for 3 million cash.

My god VC have you lost your mind!!!

Harris, Yi and Lee for #8 + B.Davis?

Indy would be willing to do Ford + #10 for Harris.

Ford = expirer
B.Davis = expired + overpaid

#8 is just two spots higher than #10. Is taking on B.Davis's awful contract and giving up C.Lee (our only outside shooter and best defender) and Yi's expiring contract really worth two extra spots to you?

Also, with Avery on board I have little desire to trade Harris at the moment.

Baron/2nd rounder
Gordon/Butler

Deng traded for capspace to sign a second max player for tge Bulls after signing Lebron

Miami would cry tears of joy if they could trade Beasley for pick #8 and not have to take any filler back.

Beasley & Griffin seem like there games are too similar for it to be a good idea for them to be on the same team

I'm so confused by your insistence that Griffin is a tweener. He's a PF, straight up.

If GS pick Aminu, we take Monroe, Udoh or Davis.

Honestly, that's better for us. Please pick Aminu (if not for yourself, then for someone else). :)

AK #9 for Kaman - You guys have #8 and #9 and an expiring contract. With the 8 and 9 you can trade both to move up and get the 4 from Minnesota and draft Johnson.

Jordan/FA
Griffin/AK
Johnson/AK
Gordon/Butler
Davis/FA

The Griffin/Johnson/Gordon combo will be a fun one to watch and would give them a solid core for the future.

Minnesota:
Jefferson/Aldrich
Love/Jefferson
Brewer/Gomes
Henry/Ellington
Flynn/Sessions

They fill two holes instead of one and get two quality players who can play right away,

The jazz would then trade Milsap for Battier and resign Boozer to make a run at a championship.

Utah:
Kaman/Okur/Fess
Boozer/Okur/Koufos
Battier/Miles
Matthews/Korver
Williams/Price

Or maybe CJ Miles and the Memphis first rounder next year for #8 and Deandre Jordan?

LA
Kaman/FA
Griffin/Smith
Miles/Butler
Gordan/Butler
Davis/FA

UT
Okur/Jordan
Milsap/Monroe, Davis, or Udoh
AK/Babbit or George
Mathews/Korver
Williams/Price

Minnesota would probably want their pick next year back too

I really like this deal for the clips. We fill our biggest hole with AK and with the 8th and 9th picks we can draft a center to help replace Kaman and a wing like Paul George.

If we do that deal, we'd have to give up the shot on a big FA, but that line-up doesn't have an outside shooter and would probably struggle.

That is something I'd definitely say hell no too. I don't see the difference between Monroe and Aminu being worth a future first. At best I'd offer a pick swap option.

Done, done and done.

Take Paul George at #12, Eric Bledsoe at #25 and the rights to Kevin Seraphin with #28 and keep him overseas for a while, or take a chance on Lance Stephenson. Toss in the future first, if its a 2012 first, the Clippers will have three that year with the Wolves as well (unless Minny's isn't top 10 next year)
