what is this thing with Dallas fans and Roddy. The kid has played 1 season, as a 3rd pg, averaging 12 minutes a game. He isnt exactly tall at 6', and was about 1.3 asst/ 1 TO rate. Yet every Dallas fans talks about how great and untradeable he is. I would value JJ Barea higher than Roddy. He has a better assist to turnover ratio, and has proven his strength as a backup for the past few years.

Awful for Dallas. We trade 4 quality players for one who is supposedly another SF.

i'm sorry, did you say quality players?

Roddy- 3rd pg

Dominique Jones - untested, non-lottery rookie.

Ajinca - 5 minute a game 4th big man.

Caron Butler - only player that could be considered a 'quality' player

For a backup PF, backup SG and an All-Star SF who was 4th in scoring behind Anthony, James and Durant, oh and scored more than Dirk.

yeah, real awful deal there.

Personally i'd give away Barea for free..too short, stubby, t-rex like midget arms, no defense, average jumpshot, he's 26, dribbles around in circles and wastes possessions every time down the floor.

Beaubois has potential because he has great work ethic, is willing to learn, has great length being 6'2'' with a 6'10'' wingspan, his athletic ability is off the charts....Can score in bunches, is unstopple on the fast break, his jumpshot is really smooth and consistent.....Hmm that's about it oh and he's 23 so he still has time to grow.

michaellam_1986 wrote:D.Jones as I mentioned before, is the All Star in the summer league. He has very solid performance and when has face to face game against Wall, he has 28pts and 7 ast and held Wall to 4 of 19 FG.

That's nice and all, but it's just summer league. Marco Belinelli looked like Michael Jordan in summer league. Let's see how he plays against real NBA talent before we start talking about him as a significant piece for a guy like Granger.

Indiana wouldn't do this.

Roddy's nice and all, but why trade a potential star for a star/superstar in his prime? Butler has a year or two left of solid production (not all star production), and he's the only real piece other than Roddy they're getting back.

Chandler (huge expiring and still young)
Butler (30 yrs old)
Beaubois (apparently starting SG next year in Dallas)
Multiple 1st rounders

That might provoke consideration, but probably still wouldn't get it done.

EDIT: And D Jones can't be considered a major piece for Granger, he hasn't even played in an NBA game yet.

If you are trying to sell Indy on "DoJo" based on his summer stats, then don't you have to downgrade Roddy based on his summer performance?

The deal is awful for Indy.

This deal would be awful for Indiana, Dallas has nothing on their roster worth picking up, beside maybe Roddy, and he is not even a proven starter. You guys didn't have enough to get Al Jefferson from us with the DUST chip, you've got nothing to get Granger.

Beaubois is nice and all.... but you gotta add some value there buddy.

Dojo is Dominic Jones who is picked 25th by DAL and also a member of the all star list in the summer league. Please try to read more basketball news before posting an offensive comment on 'Huh? Who is Dojo?' . Also, your recent lotto pick is often injuried last year and has not done anything yet.

This trade blows! Granger is not for sale at 40 cents on the dollar!
