Pacers/Celtics/Magic/Lakers

Postby Pacers1967 on Sun Jun 03, 2012 8:38 pm

I posted this on another Pacers forum. I think it's a pretty fair trade for each team involved.

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=c78clqx

Indiana
Trades Danny Granger, Darren Collison, Tyler Hansbrough
Receives Rajon Rondo, JJ Redick

Boston
Trades Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo
Receives Dwight Howard, Darren Collison

Orlando
Trades Dwight Howard, JJ Redick
Receives Pau Gasol, Danny Granger

Los Angeles
Trades Pau Gasol
Receives Paul Pierce, Tyler Hansbrough

This is obviously out there, but I really like it. The Pacers get an All-Star point guard who can create and play defense, have the ability to move Paul George to small forward, and acquire a pure shooter.

The Celtics make the huge acquisition of a player who can be built around. It hurts having to give up Paul Pierce, but he is approaching the end of his career.

Orlando gets rid of a player who doesn't want to be there, and they get a legit starting small forward and a top big man.

Los Angeles gets another great scorer who already has experience with playing in a trio and will get rid of a player who is a bad fit for Mike Brown.

Potential lineups

Pacers
PG-Rondo
SG-Hill
SF-Granger
PF-West
C-Hibbert

Magic
PG-Nelson
SG-Richardson
SF-Granger
PF-Anderson
C-Gasol

Lakers
PG-Sessions
SG-Bryant
SF-Pierce
PF-World Peace, Hill, or Hansbrough
C-Bynum

Celtics
PG-Collison
SG-Bradley or Allen
SF-Pietrus
PF-Bass or Garnett
C-Howard

Lakers won't help facilitate a trade that would land D-Ho to Celtics. So, no.

I like the idea, but will Boston pull the trigger on a rental Dwight?

I thought that was one of the places Dwight said he would sign.

Rather not take a chance and see if he signs in 2013 with the Celts

Well an extension would have to be part of the deal.

This is not too bad of an idea for such a complex trade due to the amount of high value players involved.

Send the Lakers Collison and have the Celtics take on Blake from the Lakers and it might be a bit closer, as others have pointed out the Lakers won't facilitate a Dwight to Boston deal willingly. That being said they retain the 2nd best C in the game and give him a much larger role on offense.

This trade isn't all that for the Magic. They'd want to include Hedo as opposed to Reddick IMO.

the trade is fair. and it's a blockbuster.
hard to become real.
what it is interesting for boston, is the cap room that also creates this trade
