KOTB: Minnesota and Utah: Swapping Youngins

Post#1 » by RoyalWun » Sun Nov 18, 2012 3:33 am

Scenario: Millsap says he will test free agency + Roy still having knee issues

Wolves trade: Derrick Williams + Malcolm Lee
Jazz trades: Alec Burks + Jeremy Evans

With injuries being a common thing in Minny's backcourt, Burks is a young guy that can help out now (along with Shved) ad Evans is a decent athletic guy to have. For Utah, Williams is a replacement for the departing Millsap and should get more PT not playing behind a superstar in Love.

Wolves:
Rubio / Ridnour / Barea
Burks / Shved / (Roy)
Kirilenko / Howard / Budinger
Love / Cunningham / Evans
Pekovic / Stiemsma / Amundson

Jazz:
Williams / Watson / Tinsley
Hayward / Foye / Lee / Bell
Williams / Carroll / Murphey
Millsap / Favors / Williams
Jefferson / Kanter

I'm considering having Utah send Minny a pick but not sure if a first or second is necessary.
Dammit...:

I've got Nurkic fever now.

I think D-Will has a lot more value than that. I think Utah needs to send a pick to make this work. As it is: no. With a pick: maybe.

I give it a yes. You at least spelled Burks' name correctly.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Derrick Williams is a PF, and the Jazz have Favors, Kanter, Jefferson and Millsap this season, so I can't say yes without you addressing that frontcourt glut in the deal.

From my perspective KOTB deals/entries should be treated in isolation.

I do think how deals set a team up for the future is very important, and most important really, however one could argue that this isn't the case here as it would drive Al/Millsap's value down, as other GMs would know they'd be available after this. I think worst case scenario is them both walking at the end of the season, it's incredibly stupid to waste 2 decent assets.

I don't think Burks has outplayed D-Will to the extent Minny would consider this, especially when they have Shved and Roy at SG already.

Sorry, it's a no from me (in american idol, ..got talent, etc judge voice)

I think Minny is selling too low, and I'm not sure Burks is what they need at SG, so imma say NO.
