Hawks Trade: Josh Smith
Hawks Receive: Wilson Chandler, Kenneth Faried
Why? The Hawks make this move because they get younger, and pick up some very solid players who they can develop alongside Horford. They also complete they're starting lineup.
Jeff Teague/Devin Harris/Louis Williams
Kyle Korver/Louis Williams/Anthony Morrow/John Jenkins
Wilson Chandler/DeShawn Stevenson
Kenneth Faried/Anthony Tolliver/Ivan Johnson/Mike Scott
Al Horford/Zaza Pachulia/Johan Petro
Nuggets Trade: Wilson Chandler, Kenneth Faried
Nuggets Receive: Josh Smith
Why? The Nuggets do this because they're depth at SF allow them to move Chandler and they strengthen they're lineup greatly. Losing Kenneth and Chandler hurts, but the addition of Josh Smith covers it. After this move, they look like they can really compete with the best of teams.
Ty Lawson/Andre Miller/Julyan Stone
Andre Iguodala/Corey Brewer/Evan Fournier
Danilo Gallinari/Jordan Hamilton/Quincy Miller
Josh Smith/Anthony Randolph
JaVale McGee/Kosta Koufos/Timofey Mozgov
Let the bashing begin.

I think Denver says NO.
They love Faried who they can keep for 7 more years. Josh Smith has no guarantees of sticking around past this season. Those reasons alone make value and fit a moot point.

Re: KOTB: Hawks/Nuggets
If Faried and Smith were on the same deals i think Denver accepts...but the fact that Faried is putting up similar numbers on a rookie deal makes it a no from them imo. Solid premise though op

Easy No, as others have said Faried is on his rookie deal and under the Nuggets control for several more year, plus with the way he has started the season I doubt they trade him for anybody that they could reasonably get.

ATL is not going to trade Josh Smith for a PF when they already have Al Horford. The deal needs to suit both teams.
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

I think this deal suits Atlanta quite well, they get a young garbage man PF to pair with Horford's jump shooting, and a young starting SF on a decent deal.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

I wouldn't be shocked to see Faried be considered the better player by the end of the year, so I don't see a need for Denver to make this move.

Re: KOTB: Hawks/Nuggets
Easy no from Denver. As a young stud on a rookie deal, Faried arguably has more trade value than the expiring Smith who has given no clues about where he wants to play in 2013.

Re: KOTB: Hawks/Nuggets
No, it wouldn't suit our needs. If Faried was a C then it'd work, but as a PF, then Horford would still take the pounding that an NBA C gets on D which is something he doesn't want and even his father has made the papers about it. I mean if we're trading an AS then we shouldn't we keep our other AS happy?mcfly1204 wrote:parson wrote:ATL is not going to trade Josh Smith for a PF when they already have Al Horford.
