Boston Memphis

Rondo and Wilcox for Conley, Speights and a 2nd round pick.

why for Memphis: replace Conley with a first team all-star point guard and obtain an adequate repacement for Speights. Memphis also saves money in 2014.
why for Boston: obtain an acceptable replacement for Rondo along with another young big man. It also increases the likelihood of Greg Oden signing with Boston if Oden ever comes back. The Celtics also gain a pick which will probably be somewhere in the late 40's.

You dont trade Rondo to bring in Oden;s childhood friend in hopes of signing him. Im shocked this is coming from a Boston guy.

Not trading Rondo for Conley unless we get Gasol.

Don't overrate Rondo and underrate Conley.

Conley is a nice point guard but he's not in Rondo's class. If the Cs where to movr Rondo they would be getting more than that.

OP's from Boston and he wants that deal to happen?

Conley is no more than an average starter. Rondo is the second best PG in the league.

I agree. I think Conley is the most underrated PG in the game and Rondo is good, but a bit overrated. I think they are very close.

If the Celtics did something like this I would love to see them trade additional youth for Gasol, because Gasol/KG/Pierce/Bradley/Conley is a great fitting team.

Well Memphis can send two second rounders to even it out :)

Or a first rounder if they have one. Also the C's need a a big guy who can shoot like Speights. He's a perfect fit for their system and an excellent trade chip in 2013-2014 if they decide not to keep him.

Grizzlies will decline this trade.
Conley is better point guard than Ronde in the Grizz system.

Theres no way Boston trades Rondo straight up for Conley. However I could see them "maybe" thinking about doing some sort of package trading Rondo for Conley AND Gay. That might be worth it. But just Conley alone no way.

Wow did I just see Conley is better than Rondo in the Grizz system. Rudy be an All star and Gasol would be top 3 center with Rondo feeding them the ball. Rondo is the 2nd best PG in the league behind Paul and he is dealing with aging Stars that are not Stars anymor. take off those glasses dude

Rondo
Green
Bass
Lee

for

Conley
Randolph
Allen
Wroten

Memphis goes for broke to make a Rondo/Gay/Gasol core, with good solid pieces like Green and Bass and Lee filling in around them.

Rondo/Bayless
Lee/Ellington
Gay/Green
Speights/Bass/Green
Gasol/Haddadi

Boston makes a move to core their roster to a key group and shore up their front line and scoring.

Conley/Bradley/Wroten
Bradley/Terry/Allen
Pierce/Allen
Randolph/Sullinger
Garnett/etc etc

Completely ridiculous I know.

If Rondo play as PG in MEM who is going take a outside shot?
Are you saing Tony have to take a outside shot for Rondo? Or Rudy?
Tony and Rudy are not good shooter like Ray Allen and Pierce.
Are you saing Rondo will take 3 for Tony and Rudy?

I am not saying Conley is better than Rondo. Grizz don't want PG who can not shoot from downtown.

I'm a big fan of Rondo, but the Grizz's (already sometimes abysmal) ability to hit perimeter shots to space the floor for Zbo and Gasol gets worse with this deal IMO. Memphis only takes this trade as the first step in a complete roster/playing style overhaul IMO.
