PHI-BKN-MIL

Postby Prokys Nets on Fri Jan 18, 2013 4:42 pm

To PHILADELPHIA:
Monta Ellis

Why?: Gives them more scoring and a very nice backcourt of Monta/Jrue

To BROOKLYN:
Thad Young
Drew Gooden

Why?: They take on Gooden`s deal and help Philly get Monta, so they recieve Thad Young.

To MILWAUKEE:
Kris Humphries
MarShon Brooks

Why?: They get rid of Gooden`s contract, and get Humphries, and a young scorer in Brooks.

I dont think Philly would give up Thad Young for Monta. At least I wouldnt.

Milw saves a year on the Gooden deal but doesnt save any actual money. I would think they would rather amnesty Gooden then swap him for Hump plus trade Ellis for Brooks which is terrible value.

And again a terrific deal for Brooklyn who gets upgraded talent and there is no downside to them taking on Gooden's extra year.

Dirk isn't even that much better offensively. He scored what, 3 more points a game than KG at their peaks?

Bucks pass.

What do you plan to get for Hump? He's been garbage this year.

I think the Nets win this trade as is. I would do it if they threw the Bucks Taylor as well for a 2013 2nd rd pick.

Why would the Kings want Ellis? Perhaps you are just assuming they are dumb?

No to Ellis in Philly. Just cut the Sixers out of this, unless like PHX will give up Gortat for Ellis and the Sixers then get Gortat.

In which case...the Sixers get cut out of the deal.

As usual, you're wrong. Who would cut them, BKN? They give up too little value here to get Gortat. And MIL has Sanders Udoh Pryzbilla and Dalembert and hence no need - they need shooting wings.
Speaking of Rip Hamilton...
