Lakers - Hawks straight up

Postby Ayatollah on Wed Jan 23, 2013 4:05 am

Only a "deal" if D12 will sign an extension in Atl...

Dwight Howard, Chris Duhon for Josh Smith, Devin Harris, Kyle Korver

LAL: Nash, Bryant, Metta, Smith, Gasol (Harris, Meeks, Korver, Clark, Jamison)
ATL: Teague, Stevenson, Morrow, Horford, Howard (Duhon, Pargo, Jenkins, Johnson, Pachulia)

Why?
The Lakers aquire well-fitting pieces to the run´n´gun of D´Antoni in J-Smoove, Harris and Korver while Pau Gasol could play in the paint... After this deal, the Hawks have the best frontcourt-combo in the league!

On the contrary, Horford's contract would do the Lakers better than renegotiating Smoove to a max deal next summer (bad bad idea).

Nah, we'll use $$ and some of the others on the team to do that. Horford is just a much better fit next to Howard. The bigger deal would be that I'd guess that LAL would prefer Horford.

For the love of god, stop with the Howard to Atlanta trades, they don't need to trade for him, they will have oodles of cap space this summer!
