Strange trade for both teams ,the team going nowhere trades potential for production and the team trying to stay in the last play off position trades production for potential

Geoff Petrie gotta be fired for picking Thomas Robinson with the #5 pick ahead of guys like Lillard and Drummond and trade him away a few months later for lesser pieces.

I think Patrick Patterson will be very good for Sacramento and for Thomas Robinson it will also be good to be in a better organization.

I wonder if he's even making the calls for trades at this point.

The only thing i can hope is that the kings are going to make a second move to clear out the logjam at backup pg and get the kings some real starters at pg and sf.

Rockets still need more cap to offer Howard his max. This gets them closer.

Actually it gets them further away, albeit not by a lot. Toney Douglas and Aldrich have team options this summer. Robinson is owed more than Patterson.

The Marcus Morris trade, however, wipes this extra salary out with around 1.5 million to spare.

I don't think so at this point. Given the Kings are all but in Seattle at this point, it's either the Goofs or the new owners.

Said in reference to Utah's trade assets in a potential Doncic deal.

This has the Magoofs written ALL over it. This deal saved them about 4 mil or so for this season. They're trying to pocket a few extra bucks while they can. That's the only reasonable explanation at this point. No way the new owners, whoever they end up being, would have given up on Robinson like this.

It's crap like this that makes it really hard for me to feel sad about the Kings moving. I feel bad for the fans, but seriously, if this is the crap you'd have to put up with, I'd say good riddance. I'd rather not have a pro team than be the perennial laughing stock of one.

Just horrendous decision-making by the Kings. I might be one of the few who's been impressed with Robinson thus far; he's a tweener who was drafted too high. If he had gone 11th or 12th then everyone would be impressed.

I think he should be starter pretty soon in Houston and he will be productive, even if a little bit over-matched on the defensive end most nights.

Plus Houston get rid of Toney Douglas and his horrible shot-selection. Beverely runs the point much better.

The Maloofs not only saved 4M this year, but also got a direct 1M back for making the trade.

like someone mentioned on the GB, they didn't exactly save 4mil, over half the season has already been played, which the players have already been paid for. they're saving less, more like 2mil-ish

Kings clearly won the trade, they got Patterson! i see potential in that guy, he's better than Robinson at this point and this helps Cousins as they both played at Kentucky

Morey must be really confident in landing Dwight or Josh Smith (or both!) if he is trading away both Patterson and Morris who have been very serviceable this season

Patterson is the black Bargnani

4.7 rebounds on 25.9 min/game. Love shooting jumpers.

oh please... Patterson is showing better upside already. he plays team ball, gets steals and blocks and actually hustles

Bargnani is almost apathetic when it comes to that :D

Houston didnt win the trade but they clearly won something else

Maybe they're going to parlay him to Atlanta for Smith? Not sure why Atlanta would have much interest in TRob though. Getting him means they can't finally move Horford to PF.
