Wizards/Celts deal sending Jordan Crawford to Boston will not be for C Fab Melo, per source. Teams still working.

Haven't seen more then Barbosa listed yet, but I'm guessing that a little more is involved.
Still, figured time to get this up and add the poll when what it is becomes clear, but its on WT.

So, really just Barbosa?

I'm skeptical that it doesn't include a 2nd/cash or both, but alright, poll will be added.

Woj just tweeted that Jason Collins also going to Wiz.

Still, a whole lot of nothing for a 13ppg young player who's still on rookie contract. They couldn't even swing a 2nd rounder for him?

This is a low risk-high reward trade for the Celtics. They literally traded nothing for a player that can at least get on the court.

If the Wizards got a second rounder in return, that would have been a steal for them--they literally got nothing back.

I think we just wanted to get rid of him so bad... nothing seemed like the right price. Very surprised we didn't get at least a 2nd for him... geez.

Not even a 2nd rounder. Damn, that's steep.

Addition by subtraction for Washington, Crawford will put up numbers in Rondo's role, but he's an epic chucker that will destroy the flow that the Celtics have been playing with lately.

He'll put up numbers though.

RealGM, where trading the worst contract in the league for a #2 pick happens.

I guess it's possible he was a victim or a toxic Wiz team and he'll start playing some D and stop wasting possessions of dumb shots.

Even then, he's probably the 4th best guard on the Celtics.

Washington has the 5th best defense in the league, FWIW.

But you are right about the shot jacking.

Nate, you and I both know that Crawford is probably the worst defender on the Wizards other than Cartier Martin. Our success on defense this year is in no way, shape, or form the result of Jordan Crawford. The potential to become a solid defensive player is there though, no doubt (although you could probably say that about pretty much any NBA player, especially those 25 years old or less).

Not much in terms of tangible return for Washington, but it is the final step of "Operation Clear all the Knuckleheads Away from John Wall So He Can Develop as a Player" (which actually seems to be working fairly well, even if it could use a punchier name). Addition by subtraction is the idea, exactly, and in that sense the Wizards got exactly what they wanted.

Shoulda traded Wilcox, why is keeping bird rights important for Wilcox ? It's not like hell ever make more than the vets minimum anyway.

Maybe he just didnt want to spend time on a sucking franchise... As far as players I easily prefer Wilcox over Collins but Collins is the position were very thin at.
