A ATL-LAL-NOH that should have happened

Post#1 » by RR9 » Fri Feb 22, 2013 3:29 pm

I feel like this trade should have happened:

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine/?tradeId=a7dpg9b

It's even according to Hollinger (which is a start). ATL pairs dwight with smith. LAL gets the stretch 3 (high quality) that D'antoni needs for his system (with pau moving to C again) and devin harris as pg insurance. NOH gets back a high quality big who can play both pf/C and would make a good duo with davis/bring some (youngish) vet leadership.

Everyone wants us to trade Ryno for some reason. He must be good or something.

I think the Hornets will keep him, thanks.

Ryan Anderson has a PER of 19.0, as a result, this makes him the worst 19.0 PER player to ever exist

Horford and Dwight have PER of 19.0, Ryan Anderson is no where on the same level as Horford and Dwight.

NOH is stealing. But they have no reason to trade Ryan Anderson. If Smith was a few years younger I think a Josh Smith Anthony Davis front court would be perfect.

LOL Lakers would cut NO out entirely, also ATL won't trade Horford for Dwight unless Howard says he'll extend with us

Horford for Ryno straight up is probably the most generous trade idea I've seen based on Ryno. I do think people underestimate the value of a stretch 4 in the modern game, if the hornets had a quick PG who could get into the lane better, Ryno would just be more effecient. I do not want the Hornets to trade Anderson at all, I love what he does and what he brings to the team, but this is a generous offer and one that would probably get the Hornets to sign off on.

Not to criticize Ryan Anderson too much, but aren't real PFs supposed to rebound and play defense inside?

its a bad trade on alot of levels.

for me, its a bad trade, because i really hope Atlanta ends up getting Dwight this summer, instead of LA or Houston. its because i'm just a big fan of Al Horford.

Howard and Horford will easily become the best front court in the NBA, Horford's game just matches up so well to Howard, that i think each guy will elevate one another to be as good as another Twin Towers.

I'm just a big fan of Horford, because i use to watch him in Grand Ledge, Michigan and him and Dwight could be the next Bash Brothers, and would be really fun to watch Dwight and Al against Lebron and Wade, or Carmelo and Chandler.

As for Josh Smith, even though Josh and Dwight are best friends, i don't think it would be a good idea if the teamed up. Howard's game and Smith's game, just don't fit well with each other. Smith is a bad passer, makes bad decisions and complains about not getting enough shots. Atlanta is better off in getting a savvy vet like Antwan Jamison or Lamar Odom or trade for Danny Granger to team up with Howard and Horford.

^And yet, Howard and Smith would be a fantastic defensive duo. Now that Smith has proven he can defend the 3, the Hawks would be crazy to throw that away.

Don't know if serious. I'll take my chance on resigning Howard than to accept that offer.

Exactly. We turn Dwight into Ryan Anderson and a pair of expiring contracts. Hell no.
