What do you think about this trade?

Successful Trade Scenario
Congratulations on a successful trade
Trade ID
Trade ID #6441934

Brooklyn Nets Trade Breakdown
Change in Team Outlook: -4.3 ppg, +0.8 rpg, and +2.3 apg.

Incoming Players
Josh Smith
28 year old , 6-9, 225 lb PF from Oak Hill Academy (Virginia)
16.4 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 3.3 apg in 35.5 minutes
Outgoing Players
Brook Lopez
26 year old , 7-0, 275 lb C from Stanford
20.7 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 0.9 apg in 31.4 minutes in 2013-2014

They get a PF who will provide defense and athleticism that they lack. Fits right into what Coach Kidd is doing on offense and with the small ball which isn't exactly small since J Smoove is a combo forward. He has also worked all with JJ in the past. Plus him and KG would be a beast.

Garnett/Plumlee
Smith/Blatche
Pierce/Kirlienko/Teletovic
Johnson/Thornton
Williams/Livingston

Detroit Pistons Trade Breakdown
Change in Team Outlook: -1.0 ppg, -4.2 rpg, and -0.0 apg.

Incoming Players
Eric Gordon
25 year old , 6-4, 215 lb G from Indiana
15.4 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 3.2 apg in 32.1 minutes
Outgoing Players
Josh Smith
28 year old , 6-9, 225 lb PF from Oak Hill Academy (Virginia)
16.4 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 3.3 apg in 35.5 minutes in 2013-2014

They get shooting and pure offense in this trade. Josh basically killed the development of Monroe and i guess the best move for Detroit is to invest on their young twin towers and add up complimentary players around them. This satisfies that move.

Drummond
Monroe
Singler
Gordon
Jennings

New Orleans Pelicans Trade Breakdown
Change in Team Outlook: +5.3 ppg, +3.4 rpg, and -2.3 apg.

Incoming Players
Brook Lopez
26 year old , 7-0, 275 lb C from Stanford
20.7 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 0.9 apg in 31.4 minutes
Outgoing Players
Eric Gordon
25 year old , 6-4, 215 lb G from Indiana
15.4 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 3.2 apg in 32.1 minutes in 2013-2014

They clear up the clog in the back court and go to the next level with what will probably be the best big man combination in the future. This is also perfect with how evans flourished late in the season without gordon.

Lopez/Smith
Davis/Anderson
Aminu
Evans/Rivers
Holiday/Roberts

Not crazy about Gordon for Smith, particularly with Monroe still unsettled.

Bill might not like it, but I do. Turn Smith into a better fit and a smaller contract.

Brooklyn won't add the year of Josh Smith's salary. Free agent dreams of the future.

I don't think Eric Gordon has the value to get Brook Lopez. And am not sure who has more/less value between Gordon and Smith. But (just my opinion) feel they are both behind Lopez, as it is possible Lopez comes back next season and is again a top 4-5 center in the league.

There's no question Lopez is good. However, he does NOT fit well with Brooklyn's other pieces, which is why they have improved so much with him out for the season.

That's a problem when he's got a $16m contract for each of the next two seasons and there are only so many players you can bring in when trading such a deal.

New Orleans probably has to add value somewhere to get this done, such as a 2015 1st.

I'd assume having Lopez and Gordon inspected for physical damages will factor. All 3... CAN be VERY good... If not "All Star"..fairly close. Smith has to play PF... not SF. Gordon + Lopez have to be 100% healthy. B Lopez... I'd think.. has the most value. If you can use him as a PF.. Smith is #2...but Gordon.. if Healthy.. can be a standout SG. The Hornet/Pelicans.. have a 4/5 group in Smith,Davis, Andersom that can be damn good. Probably they need a lift at SF more than a C. However... they do probably get the "best value". The concept.. is in the ballpark but will need some tweaks.
CENSORED... No comment.

This. Lopez>Smith>Gordon, assuming all are reasonably healthy. Similar deals. The balance isn't quite there.

I'd take Gordon over Smith at this point.
He has his health concerns, but his deal is shorter and he does fit a need.
Just need to re-sign Moose and we'd be going in the right direction.
