One of my frustrations at RGM over the years is the draft picks on Mavs who still hang out there. I doubt Koponen is ever coming to dallas, but I understand the need to keep him in this listing based on rights held, etc. Steve Logan was listed on mavs trade checker until recently, and he is 34 and last played in Israel in 2007. Mavs already have a player who should not be on the roster with Mekel.

Thanks for keeping up with all of this fun. Net is that mavs have Vet mins left to sign players.

I already have Harris, Jefferson and Lewis added in and they are still holding the Koponen Cap Hold. They haven't done the "agreement not to sign" deal with him yet. Everything totals to $64,699,374.00 with an estimate of $2,870,813.00 for Harris and minimum deals for Jefferson and Lewis and the Cap Hold for Koponen.

You can go over the cap to sign vet min. contracts. Roster holds are a little over $500,000 but vet min contracts can be up to around $1.5mil depending on experience in the league. This means if you have something like 2 roster holds, you have to save around $1mil in space, but you can sign those two players to $1.5mil contracts each and go over the cap by about $2mil

Trust me, Knosh knows how it works. At least as good, probably better, than the rest of us here. I think he was more asking how I got to the Mavs being over by virtue of what salaries I had assigned to who.
