Amir Johnson for 2014 1st round pick

Post#1 » by Dukenukem23 » Mon May 5, 2014 5:15 am

What is the highest pick the Raptors could get for Amir Johnson? What teams might be interested in such a deal?

He'd look really good on Phoenix IMO, #18 for Amir sounds about right.

How about Amir & 20th + 59th for 14th and 50th.

I'd be interested in a deal around 13 for Amir and another piece. He'd make an awesome 3rd big for the Wolves.

If Toronto is looking to improve, how about Amir/Salmons for David Lee? GSW starts Johnson at the 4, and clears some cap space by waiving Salmons. Toronto gets a scoring PF to pair with Valanciunas for a couple of seasons.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

That's kyle Anderson range, I'd probably take this deal depending on what the other piece was.

We're not trading Amir to move up 6 spots in the draft. Straight up for the 18th pick makes way more sense, but I'd prefer the 14th pick obviously.

Now we're talking. What's the other piece though? You want to dump Shved?

We would want to Dum Budinger.
13/Budinger/Shved/2nd for Amir/Salmons

Would you do Brewer instead of either Shved or Budinger?

Instead of Budinger, maybe. I would prefer to keep Brewer though as he is our 2nd best defender. I think we would just need a follow up deal afterwards as our roster would look like this.

Rubio/JJB
Martin/Bazz
Budinger/LRMM
Love/Amir
Pek/Dieng

I still feel like we would need to make a move for another wing somehow using our expirings in JJB/Shved/LRMM.

I like the idea of Brewer on the Raptors at the 3. I think he fits well into our lineup, so I would definitely do Amir + Salmons for Brewer + 13th + cap filler, but I can only speak for myself.

Yeah if we sent out Brewer I would think the value is closer to Brewer/2nd for Amir.

Yeah in that case I wouldn't do it and I understand where you're coming from.

I'd do Amir + Salmons for Budinger, Barea, Turiaf + the 13th.

Then look to move Barea to a 3rd team. Basically I like the 13th more than I like Brewer, but I like both.

I think the return on dealing Amir would be bad contract plus mid to late 1st round pick. With the Raptors having picks at 20 and 37, teams will probably be looking to trade down with them rather than giving a pick entirely for an expiring contract.

I could see teams in the 13-15 range interested in a trade-down to 20, but they probably won't give up the pick for one year of a solid player.
