ATLANTA HAWKS:
Depth Chart:
PG: J. Teague|D. Schroeder|S. Mack
SG: K. Korver|K. Bazemore| J. Jenkins
SF: D. Carroll|T. Sefolosha
PF: P. Milsap|M. Scott|A. Payne
C: Horford|P. Antic|M. Muscala
Draft Picks:
2015- ATL 1st round pick, TOR 2nd round pick
* Atlanta has the right to swap 2015 1sts with Brooklyn
Draft Rights:
Lamar Patterson (SG)
Waltar Tavares (C)
Untouchable:
Nobody in Atlanta is untouchable, even Horford can be had for the right price.
Available:
Everyone
Needs/Wants:
-Star player or fringe star player to ATL. Our GM and Franchise simply can not attract big FA's to the city of Atlanta; that has got to change. Horford is the closest thing we have to a star. The problem is he has clearly shown he can't stay healthy but we are expecting a full turn around this upcoming season from him.
-shot creators. Teague is our only guy right now that has the ability to create his own shot when the play breaks down or things aren't going right.
-Center. Horford is undersized at the C position and would be a much better fit at the PF position. A center that can preferably shoot would be nice. Who am I kidding any center to slide Horford to the 4 would be ideal.
- 3-D wings. Carroll is probably the best bang for your buck 3-D wing out there right now. Thabo was a great pick up for us but he's been in a pretty bad shooting slump, so if he doesn't come out of that then it will hurt us pretty bad.
Good Value Guys:
-Horford
-Milsap
-Korver
-Teague
-Payne
-Schroeder

Boston Celtics Depth Chart going into the preseason
PG: Rondo/Smart/Pressey (ung)
SG: Bradley/Thornton/Babb (ung)
SF: Green/Turner/Wallace/Young (likely D-League bound)/Johnson (ung)/Bogans (won't play, will certainly be traded or waived before season, ung)
PF: Sullinger/Olynyk/Bass
C: Zeller/Faverani/Anthony
Untouchable/Highly Unlikely: Marcus Smart
Need a good offer for to trade: Rajon Rondo, Kelly Olynyk, Jared Sullinger, James Young, Avery Bradley
Will trade for a decent offer: Tyler Zeller, Vitor Faverani, Evan Turner
Other Assets: A stash of picks; unprotected firsts from the Clippers in 2015, Nets in 2016, right to pick swap for a 2nd rounder with the Nets in 2017, Nets in 2018, top 10 protected from Cleveland in 2016, unprotected 2nd rounders from Philly in 2015 and 2016 (if they don't convey their first rounder this year, which will happen), Miami in 2016, and unguaranteed contracts: three small ones a bit under $1M (Babb, Pressey, Johnson) and one big one that's $5.3M (Bogans), medium sized trade exceptions as well, $4.25M from Humphries, $2.1M from Lee
Picks owed: 2015 protected 2nd rounder to Cleveland that likely won't convey, 2016 unprotected 2nd rounder to Grizzlies/Jazz
Trade Block: Gerald Wallace (horrible contract that doesn't produce on court), Marcus Thornton (big expiring contract that can shoot), Brandon Bass (expiring role player that can have some value), Jeff Green (inconsistent, and they want to avoid him exercising his player option next year), Joel Anthony (overpaid expiring end of bench defensive big), Keith Bogans (Ainge wants to take advantage of his contract as an asset, as if he can't do anything with him soon, he'll just outright waive him)
Needs: Rim protector, legit center, 3 point shooting, frontcourt defense in general.
Has too much of: Power forwards, Guards
PG: Rondo/Smart/Pressey (ung)

Would be willing to part with a mixture of B. Wright, Crowder, Mekel, Felton, Nelson, Richard Jeffreson for a solid starting PG.

Re: Whats your teams block?
On the Pacers, I imagine Scola & Copeland are very much on the block, and Mahinmi might be available. Theoretically, just about anyone outside of Paul George could be on the trade block, but realistically I don't think they're going to trade West/Hibbert/Hill or any of their recent adds - Miles, Rudez, Stuckey.
They will likely only go down the trade route if the season looks lost and the playoffs seem unlikely.
Copeland is a prime candidate to be traded at the deadline - He'll get plenty of minutes and plenty of shots, and that might up his value a lot. With a main scoring role on the Pacers, Copeland could go back to looking like the quality role player he was in New York. At the deadline, teams might be willing to part with some random prospect or whatnot for the cheap expiring upgrade to Copeland for scoring.
Scola is just sorta deadweight. We don't need him. He might even get stretch provisioned.
Mahinmi has 2 years left on his deal, so if the season is lost, Pacers might look to see if anyone has interest.

Thought I would post this here instead of doing a new thread for a small trade proposal.
NOP and Minnesota.
Rivers and Babbit for Budinger
Minnesota saves some money, add a "prospect" (that is of minimal value) in exchange for expendable wing depth.
NOP add a player who can be a legit 3 for them and won't be asked to do more than cover his man and make shots within the offence.

We have fifteen people currently on our roster, so the trade is invalid.

Re: 2014-2015 NBA team needs and trade block (POST YOURS)
Heading into December it's abundantly clear what the notSonics need... a healthy Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant. Well, Trey returned this past weekend. Just ask the Knicks. He's definitely back. KD? Maybe another week? Another guy we're missing big time is PJ3 believe it or not. He only played a few games at the start of the season before injuring his knee, but the kid finally & seriously showed up. It would have been great watching PJ3 continue to develop his game while KD is out, but all those minutes have been going to Lance Thomas. A good guy. Tries hard. But he really doesn't belong in the NBA. And he's been our starting SF. Yikes!
Anyway, we're 5-12. Sounds bad. Because it is bad. Especially in the West. But we still have 65 games left. The question is... can we go 45-20 (69%) from here on out gettting us to 50 wins and a #8 seed (likely). The answer is probably. The notSonics typically have won ~60 games per season with their current roster and that's a 75% win rate. So this team has done it before. And history reminds us the 1977 Sonics started 5-17 under the disastrous coaching of Bob Hopkins (Bill Russell's cousin and hand picked replacement). However, that team quickly turned it around when Lenny Wilkins took over and, in fact, made it all the way to the NBA finals that season losing to the Washington Wizards.
So here's to hoping Durant gets back soon and more interesting/competitive drama.

Re: 2014-2015 NBA team needs and trade block (POST YOURS)
Denver Nuggets needs:
1) Probably a GM with a little more piss n. vinegar
2) Probably a coach that doesn't need everything handed to him in a basket
3) Potentially a veteran with a ring who knows when to rise to the moment (Ray Allen, Robert Horry type)
4) A consistent shooter that will set a good example for the team
5) Something that replaces McGee (inside), Gallo (outside) at least through their injuries
6) ...
So anyway, the team ventured out into a field of younger players and now we need to come back down to earth and keep the essential players and add experience and guile to make it all come together. It is clear other teams, even middling teams, have much more guile than the Nuggets. Maybe it is the yellow and blue uniforms that remind us of big bird from sesame street. Maybe we need black and gold so the team doesnt appear so fluffy.

Everyone says the Warriors are set, but they have some cracks in the armor. They have trouble against really good front lines with premier power forwards (Portland, OKC, LAC, Chicago, Washington) because, Lee, and Speights all have weaknesses defensively. If GSW could remedy this somehow through scheming and game planning that would be ideal, but a move might be necessary.

If I'm Larry Bird of the Pacers, I'm looking to see if I can trade West and Hibbert who are both possible free agents at the end of the year. Looking for draft picks or younger type players. I would also try to trade for Reggie Jackson because Pacers need a PG and that would move Hill to more of a 6th man role which he did well when he was with the Spurs. Also, keep sorta of tanking rest of the year and pray we can get lucky in the draft lotto

So now we're at the halfway point. Team is healthy. We are 21-20 and two games back in the loss column to the Suns for the eighth spot in the West. And we've added Waiters in exchange for next summer's first. Early days, but it looks like a very opportunistic trade so far. Anyways, seems as though the ship is started to finally head in the right direction. There's just one big problem at this point... Brooks' stubborn insistence of starting Roberson at SG. What a misnomer. Roberson can't shoot. At all. In fact, no one even bothers to guard him. Literally. Teams are already game planning that defensively against us now. In the regular season. We will win anyway because of shear talent. But that will be a different story in the playoffs. Bottom line is that either Waiters or Lamb need to start. And Lamb is sooooooo far down in Brook's doghouse (right or wrong, who knows?) it's unlikely he ever sees meaningful playing time for the rest of his days as a notSonic which means Waiters needs to start. Period.

Suns need: An allstar. Upgrade at SF/PF
On the trade block: Everyone except Bledsoe/Len.
I'm sure Dragic/Kieff could make a good package for an all-star.

Raptors
Needs:
- Starting SF (needs to have ability to hit 3 and defend well)
- Back-up shot blocking C
On The Block:
- Terrence Ross (although an article indicated he wasn't on the block i believe Masai would trade him for the right deal. He will not however give him away for a rental)
- Landry Fields (expiring)
- Chuck Hayes (expiring but he's a big veteran presence on our team so would be hard to move)
- Tyler Hansbrough (expiring)
- Greg Stemisma (expiring)
- Lou Williams (i believe we should be looking to deal him OR Ross)
- 2015 1st Round Pick (don't have time IMO to add another rookie to the mix. Already have Bebe & Bruno taking up roster spots developing
Amir, Vasquez, etc, are all guys who theoretically could be had but i doubt Masai realistically trades them. Amir because he's the heart and soul of the team, Vasquez because Kyle could always get hurt and having a good backup is a must.
Current Lineup:
Lowry / Vasquez
Derozan / Williams / Fields
J.Johnson / Ross / Bruno
Amir / Patt / Hayes
