Minny out:

New Orleans out:

Eric Gordon

^^$$$ doesn't work, but add in Budinger...

Minny out:

Kevin Martin
Chase Budinger

New Orleans out:

Eric Gordon

Works. Something similar could be going down soon.

That is pretty sketchy... To say something similar could be going down is a bit of a stretch. I couldn't find anything on twitter even.

Yeah, I know man... "wishful thinking" really... the entire Pelicans fanbase is literally, sitting on edge, waiting to read Eric Gordon has been traded...

I think that's pretty bad for New Orleans. I mean it gives them depth and they really need a SF, but both Bud and Martin's deals suck and go longer than Gordon's. And all three guys have injury issues. I could see it if it was Mbah a Moute or Barea (both expiring). On the plus side of the Pelicans it does allow Evans to be the starter, gives them shooting, a bit more depth, and enough to complete the Asik deal.

I wouldn't touch this for Minnesota. Martin is cheaper and Gordon's health is very questionable.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

I may be in the minority, but if it's Martin and Bud I'd do it... Martin is old and Bud just sucks. Gordon showed a lot last year, including a nice 2 point %. The guy can make his own shot, which is something we need. If he was healthy, and Wolves don't trade Love, that could be huge.

I think it's more than worth the shot just to get rid of Martin's and Bud's contracts. You get rid of those two deals and in 16/17 you could possibly have only Pek at 12 mil, Rubio on his new deal (I'd guess around 10 mil), and Shabazz/Lavine/Dieng on rookie deals still, plus whatever happens with Love.

And that's without Gordon working out. If he does, then you get a serious upgrade at the 2 offensively and defensively who'd fit in well with the rest of the current starters. I'd still do it in a heartbeat even with Mbah a Moute instead of Bud.

I'd do it as a Wolves fan. We have enough players at the wing, so consolidating and upgrading (assuming Gordon is healthy) seems to be a good move.

Pelicans must really want to make the playoffs this year if they are considering this, since they are trading for older and longer term contracts.

If its Bud and Martin for Gordon, does that free up enough for the Asik trade to work?

Based upon the sourcing, calling this a rumor is a stretch.

Was going to post the same thing. Doesn't even meet RealGMs rather low rumor standards.

I rather Moute and Martin for Gordon taking in Budinger is too much. Worse come to worse we buy out Martin just get Gordon away from us.

If the Warriors deal doesn't go down I would do this. At the very worst you are getting out of an extra year of Martin's contract.

What about Brewer instead of Budinger? I would do this 100% and not even think about it

1st) WTF?

2nd) We're not trading any expiring contracts for Eric Gordon's 15 million dollar contract.
