Please post all your Kevin Love-related ideas here instead of creating a new thread. Thanks.

There should have been one Kevin Love thread all along instead of all these posted daily...

I think if Minnesota is really looking for the best offer, if the Celtics are still offering Smart, Young, Sullinger, the non-guaranteed contracts (when do they have to be cut tho?) and future picks, it's the best deal, unless Wiggins is actually on the table (in all honesty, he shouldn't be).

If the Cavs are offering Bennett/Thompson/Waiters/picks, that's a very good deal as well. I just like Smart the most as a prospect out of any of them. But people do underrate this package, honestly.

Look at what ORL got for Dwight, or New Orleans for CP3, or Denver for Carmelo, or Utah for Deron Williams, and you'll see that the Wolves are getting equally good return (better than some of those deals) for Love.

ORL got Afflalo, Vucevic, some picks for Dwight
New ORL got Eric Gordon, Aminu, and a pick for CP3
Denver got Gallinari, Chandler, Mozgov, picks for Melo
Utah got two top 5 picks (favors & then drafted kanter) and probably something else i can't remember.

So Bennett, Thompson, Waiters, and a pick is a pretty damn solid return compared to some of that.

As a wolves fan who isn't dumb enough to think Love can get Wiggins, I like both the Boston and Cav's deal.

Smart/Young/2016 and 2018 BKN 1st.

Bennett/Waiters/Thompson/MEM 1st/MIA 1st

I would do in a heartbeat.

One thing I have noticed, which makes NO sense, is Minnesota Fans thinking they can get Wiggins. Love was never going to, ever, get a top 4 pick in this draft. He wasn't before the draft, and he certainly won't now. There is no reason for Cleveland to sell low on the best prospect since Anthony Davis just to win now. Irving/Wiggins/LeBron/Cap Space is better for the next 5 years than Irving/LeBron/Love no defense or cap space.

Cavs out: Bennett, Waiters. T. Thompson, Grizzlies 2015 1st, Heat 2015 1st, Cavs 2015 1st
Cavs in: Love

Cavs get the best power forward in the game (stastically).

Warriors out: K. Thompson, Lee
Warriors in: T. Thompson, Jack, Martin, Grizzlies 2015 1st, Heat 2015 1st, Cavs 2015 1st, Bucks 2015 2nd, Nets 2020 1st

Warriors replenish their future picks. Jack played well with Curry. Curry moves back to shooting guard with Livingston starting at point guard. Livingston-Curry-Iggy-Thompson-Bogut-Jack-Martin-Barnes-Green-Ezeli is a very good 10 man rotation and isn't much of a drop off from last years roster.

Wolves out: Love, Martin
Wolves in: K. Thompson, Lee, Bennett

Wolves get Klay Thompson who they really like. Bennett has potential. Lee can do a lot of what Love does.

Nets out: Jack, Nets 2020 1st, Bucks 2015 2nd
Nets in: Waiters

Nets get younger and get a major talent upgrade. Billy King stays consistent in always trading away future picks.

No. Doesn't make sense for either team.

I don't get the Klay Thompson fascination. If he weren't about to get paid, sure....

The best move for Cavs can make is nothing right now. Wait for the deadline line and see if Bennett and Waiters value goes up. I really don't like the believe package for Love since Im not sold on Bennett who looked like a complete waste. And I would not trade Wiggins for Love either so as it stands there is no deal to be made. Deadline times comes around and things can change.

My real belief is to look at cheaper options. Try to put together a better frontcourt the Cleveland assets(TT, Bennett, Waiters, expiring contract of sideshow Bob and picks)

I tend to agree w/ this. I think the best move for the Cavs is to maybe package AV and a young player or 2 for Hibbert, but don't know how close Lebron is with Andy V. I feel like they wouldn't want to trade a guy he's close to, but at the same time I could see a guy like Hibbert putting them over the top on defense.

Yup.

If we wouldn't give up Klay to get Love for ourselves, there's no way we give him up to help some other team land him. Assuming Irving and Wiggins are off the table, Cleveland doesn't have anything to offer that would convince GS to give up Klay.

And as a thought experiment, turn this scenario around (I know the Warriors don't have picks, but let's pretend). Would Cleveland send Wiggins to Minnesota for a bunch of picks (that, since they're coming from a playoff team, will probably be in the 20's) so that Love could go to the Warriors? Makes no sense, right?

Orlando also got Harkless - a 1st round pick, and Al Harrington in that trade, so it was:

picks
and I think also a TPE?

Orlando was the only team that did well in that trade. I'm so glad that Hennigan was smart and did not take Broken Foot Lopez or No Knees Bynum in that trade!!!
