Roy Hibbert to Utah

P.S.: I'm not sure if I already posted this trade already
Roy Hibbert
for
Enes Kanter, Steve Novak, Jeremy Evans,
Utah's own 2015 1st round pick, and 2017 1st round picks of Utah and Golden State
Pacers do this as they hit the proverbial RESET button and start clearing the slate. They get a cheap C who they could mold into a starter in Kanter + 2 rotation players in Novak and J. Evans. The real prize in return is the 3 1st round picks they get from this deal.
Jazz gets a clear upgrade at C in Hibbert. They ship 3 1st round picks just to impose that they are intending to win NOW. With Hibbert in the fold, the Utah Jazz now has a more solid starting lineup:
PG: Trey Burke or Dante Exum
SG: Burke, Alec Burks, or Gordon Hayward
SF: Hayward
PF: Derrick Favors
C: Roy Hibbert

You aren't serious are ya?
Utah is not shipping away a good prospect in Kanter along with 3 first rounders! 3! For a mental shrink in Hibbert.
Come on now the dude doesn't have that value and Utah is looking to use the upcoming year to try and see what lineup works and hopefully land another high pick.

Re: Roy Hibbert to Utah
This is a drastic over pay for Hibbert. The players involved works pretty good for me. If Indiana could get that 2017 GSW pick that would be great, but NO WAY does Utah trade their own 2015 #1.
I do think Hibbert and Favors would be good defensively.

Take out the 2015 and 2017 UTA 1sts. Add Trey Burke. Deal.
Kanter, Novak, Evans, Burke, and 2017 GS 1st for Hibbert.

Re: Roy Hibbert to Utah
Massive overpay by Utah. My jaw actually dropped a little when I got to the draft picks.
Then there's the issue of Hibbert on the Jazz. He and Favors would be a very intimidating defensive tandem, but it would be a disaster offensively. A center who has the FG percentage of a guard and doesn't stretch the floor is a terrible match for Favors on that end.

I see Favors as more of a 5, with the capability to play the 4 if we brought in some other talent at center. Here are some players, though not necessarily available, who'd fit well with Favors offensively:
Ryan Anderson
Channing Frye
Patrick Patterson
Josh McRoberts
Thaddeus Young
Mirza Teletovic

Re: Roy Hibbert to Utah
What is the point for Utah? They've got an incredibly young team that has no shot at making the playoffs; they'll develop their young group and hope those picks add to it. Trading such value for Hibbert would be a foolish move for them - I don't think they make the playoffs with a Burke/Burks/Exum/Hayward/Favors/Hibbert top 6 in the next year or two, so... why? That team is still very young and not likely to compete in the tough tough West.
Develop the young guys (Burke, Exum) and hope you can add another good pick in 2015. Then in 2015 or 2016 the team can really blossom.

Lol from Utah. Kanter has nearly as much value as Hibbert alone.
Kanter, Novak, Evans, 2015 GSW 1st (lotto protected) for Roy.

I was thinking Brook Lopez would be a nice target Utah could gamble on. Could be a nice twin tower situation.

Lopez makes much more sense than Hibbert. if Kanter can't play with Favors they will be looking for an offensive player to fill Kanter's spot. With Hibbert/Favors you have both defensive minded bigs that can struggle to score.

Re: Roy Hibbert to Utah
Let's not go crazy that Kanter is nearly as valuable as Hibbert. He's not. Hibbert was a dominant defensive center as recently as the first half of last season.
That said, the OP's trade makes no sense. Waaaay too much value heading towards Indiana. All the picks swing it that. Mostly because Hibbert isn't enough to get Utah in the playoffs in the West. So, that is still a lottery pick this year. That is too much to give up for Hibbert.

This wouldn't be a bad idea for UTA either.
BKN gets Kanter, Novak, Evans, and GSW 2017 1st for Lopez and Teague works on trade machine.

Re: Roy Hibbert to Utah
I think Utah makes a lot of sense as the team sending Kanter+Burke to Indy in a potential 3-way deal for Hibbert.
That third team would send expiring+A big asset to Utah)
Boston with Wallace (not expiring I know), Olynyk and either their 2015 first or the Nets first.. Seems to work well in this mold.. Bargs+THJ+Larkin going to Utah? Lopez+Teague to Utah would be interesting if Utah benched Lopez til at least the ASG.. Help the tank and hopefully Lopez+Favors become the best front court in the NBA next season.
Something that makes Utah slightly worse next year, but better long term while ending up with Indy getting Kanter+Burke seems to balance their team..
I think Indy just plans to hope Hibbert can learn a few more post moves this year by getting the ball thrown at him an extra 10-12 times a game and becomes a better 2-way player, which builds his confidence, which stops him from disappearing for 15 games a year as he has done.. Which makes him the player they hoped he'd be and makes Indy contenders again as soon as PG is back.
But they could do the same thing with Kanter while adding Burke who would be a great new look for them off the bench paying 28mpg sliding Hill to the 2 for 12-16 of them.

Terrence Jones would be the best defensively, while be able to stretch the floor enough offensively.
