Det/Phi & Det/Mem for your entertainment

Post#1 » by coolness » Sun Oct 19, 2014 9:21 pm

Datome, Mitchell, SMOOVE, MOOSE, 1st 2015 (unconditional), 2nd 2015 (unconditional)
for
Wroten, NOEL

Why?
save mad money. get out of the MOOSE uncertainty.

Why?
Philly likes assets and they get anothre possible lotto pick. Noel > Moose on this board, but Moose is definitely better now.

December 15th
C.Martin & A.Gray
for
T.Prince & K.Koufos

Why?
Martin and Gray are on the cap for $3m next season. Prince/Koufos expire. Koufos might become a long-term back-up for Drummond.

Why?
Martin is better than Prince now although that isn't saying much. Gray was brought to Detroit for his character supposedly, so you have that. Memphis has a high payroll and slashes a ton here. Memphis fans probably want Koufos to stay, but it wouldn't be surprising if the FO does it.

Don't think the Sixers consider the first one, although that pick could be nice, and the 2nd is terrible for Memphis.

Philly has no interest in who is better now.

Actually Moose being better now - is a bad thing for Philly.

I'd bet Hinkie would turn down Smith+Moose for Wroten based in messing up the tank.

What in the world would we do with Drummond and Noel?

I would be shocked if Detoit didn't do both of them, they clearly steal a ton of value.

Moose = Monroe
Smoove = Josh Smith

There is no way The 76ers do this for a UFA in less then 1 year. Noel looks like he might be a good fit for them

Mem trade does, basicly you upgrade Gray with Koufos. Phi trade is arguable, I don't think Detroit should give another first rounder for a while. One of Monroe and Smith better leave, Monroe is more likely. Getting Noel for him is great return and you get rid of Smith's contract at the same time. Philly doesn't touch this.

Monroe >Koufos
Noel lots of promise, no production. and doesn't compliment Dre.
we do give a first round pick in the op

Ummmmmmmm... Not sure if you heard but the Sixers are tanking. Smoove and Moose hurt that objective so the answer is no. Also for at least the next two years Noel is all but untouchable. Hinkie would want the moon for him. Now that could change after a full year playing with Embiid and their 2015 pick, whoever that may end up being.

About the Memphis trade, you basically have them paying you with Koufos to take Prince back. Memphis is under the tax so they don't need to make any desperate money saving deals right now. And that's what that is, a desperate money saving deal. It's certainly not a good basketball deal.

Oh, and to those who say this is bad for Detroit... Noel plays out of the high post on offense, he's a good passer and a phenomenal weak side shot blocker and help defender. Sound like a familiar skill set? What he doesn't do, however, is jack up three balls like he's Reggie Miller. Not sure how that doesn't fit with Drummond. Those two could go entire quarters without giving up any points.

Monroe is a player who took QO. His value is low. Yeah Noel doesn't fit (hey neither does Monroe or Smith) and untested but he was 1st pick before injury for a reason, show him around and you can think what to do later. Even Aşık showed his value behind Noah and got a nice contract, I'm sure Noel can get offers or you can find him a nice role.

That's simply not true. His value is lower, it is not low.

Yeah Noel doesn't fit (hey neither does Monroe or Smith)

Also not true, in SVG system they can and have fit

We are a better team with Monroe than with Noel.

So we have to give up smith/moose and a 1st for a guy who hasant proven anything at the NBA level and has a history of injuries.Like you also pointed out we have a guy who sounds similar on paper, but is a proven NBA player.all for noel.No thanks .

This is terrible for det,we get worse and give up 2 good players and a 1st (which if iam right, you cant trade 1st back to back).Trades like this is what sets back organizations for years.
