NO-BOS-IND

Post#1 » by lordjeff05 » Thu Oct 23, 2014 12:48 am

No gives: Eric Gordon, Ryan Anderson
gets: David West, Jeff Green, Ian Mahinmi
BOS gives: Jeff Green
gets: Louis Scola, Chris Copeland, Ind 1st
IND gives: Louis Scola, Chris Copeland, Ind 1st, David West, and, Ian Mahinmi
gets: Eric Gordon, Ryan Anderson

For Nola, they get the SF they need, and a veteran floor spacing big. New Orleans lacks vets, and adding West would be perfect for building the winning mentality for that team.

Boston gets afirst for a player that isn't in the long range plans of their team.

For indiana, they reload at the 2 and the 4. Sacrifice some D at the 4, but Anderson can work in Vogel's system. They get a player that can initiate the offense with Gordon and a crucial floor spacer in Anderson.

No from Indy. Gordon, if healthy, would fit in very nice. But he hasn't been healthy in years. A small market team conscious of costs cannot take on that contract. So to us, he's a negative. I'd love to have Anderson, but not at the costs of West, Mahinmi, and a first. We also just can't give three bigs and get back one (who plays more like a guard no less).

Gordon was really healthy last year... pels kept him out of a hand full of games just because they wanted to be cautious with him.

Pacers should not do this. Anderson is nice, but Gordon & Anderson combine for some expensive money, while Scola & Copeland are both expiring. And on what planet would the Pacers GIVE a 1st rounder in a deal where they trade away David West? Both Gordon and Anderson have serious injury questions that completely eliminate any interest the Pacers would have in them.

I'd be surprised if Indy were willing to do that, and I feel like getting Indiana's 1st alone for Jeff Green is a steal considering there's a decent chance Indy's pick could be a lotto pick.

Indy is giving up a bunch here: 2 of our more valuable vets, cap flexibility, AND a future pick. It's like the trifecta of trade assets. In return we're getting a couple of guys with large contracts and a recent track record of missed games. I think we'll pass.
