Nice move by Morey. Brewer+Ariza will make people forget about Harden's defensive issues completely. And Shved is a great addition just for salary if they can land a PF near the deadline.. Decent amount of names are potentially available in the 10-15 million dollar range...

Obviously like Dallas' move more.. But nice answer by Morey and keeps a big door open with Shved+Terry being enough to land any PF that becomes available while still saving his real assets.

Minn opens minutes for the kids which is all they need to do this year and Philly gets one step closer to all the 2ndz. Don't see how anyone lost the deal, besides Minn not being able to combine Brewer with another one of their vets to land a better asset.. Really surprised Houston didn't want both Brewer+Thad and offer one real asset for the combination.

I thought sixers would have to absorb Turiaf's salary, surprised they were able to offload Shved and get a 2nd.

Corey Brewer at $4.7 mil is a positive asset. However, if you add in Turiaf for zero production, Corey Brewer at $6.2 mil isn't that great an asset.

MIN got a prospect in Daniels, two 2nds, cash (allegedly), and the TPE/salary relief.

This is a bigger haul than I expected once Turiaf was attached.

I wouldn't really call Daniels a prospect.

Sigh.

Anyway, I thought I'd mention here that we might see a lot more minutes given to Chase Budinger now that' Brewer is gone, and it certainly happened tonight. Shabazz started, as he should (11-for-15, 26 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 three's), but Budinger got 28 minutes as well (8-for-12, 3 three's, 19 Points). I think we may see Budinger be showcased for the next month to try to recoup some of his trade value so that he can be dealt as well.

Your a Philly fan, of course you'd prefer a 2nd.

I think anyone not getting minutes as a 2nd year undrafted player is not really a prospect, unless the word is devoid of meaning. But, if you prefer the later, I guess I can say that I'm terrible bummed the Sixers got nothing in return for the prospect Malcolm Thomas.

If anything, being a Sixer fan would make me more predisosed to the idea of pretending that a marginal 14th man is a prospect. :-?

This outcome should make many on the Trade Board pat themselves on the back. Those that said Corey Brewer wouldn't bring back a first rounder were correct. At the same time, those that said he was worth more than a second rounder can say that MIN got a second rounder plus a prospect plus got to dump Turiaf.

2 2nds, a prospect, and eat a dead weight contract (paying a third second essentially) is late first round pick value for Brewer.

Normally we are content with getting a 2nd, unless we are dealing with Flip and the wolves, then its just an opportunity missed for another 1st.

Well that was poor logic. Flip has been amazing as GM for the Wolves. Great draft picks, great trades. Unless you think the haul he got for Love wasn't enough.

5-6 picks, 4 2nds.

Philly 1st (cause they are not making the playoffs,) and then:
2015 first round draft pick from Miami
Miami's 1st round pick to Philadelphia (via Cleveland) protected for selections 1-10 in 2015 and 1-10 in 2016 and unprotected in 2017 [Cleveland-Miami, 7/9/2010 then Cleveland-Minnesota-Philadelphia, 8/23/2014]

2015 second round draft pick from Golden State
Golden State's 2015 2nd round pick to Philadelphia (via Indiana) [Golden State-Indiana, 12/19/2011 then Indiana-Philadelphia, 2/20/2014]

2015 second round draft pick from Orlando
Orlando's 2015 2nd round pick to Philadelphia [Orlando-Philadelphia, 6/26/2014]

2015 second round draft pick from New Orleans
New Orleans' 2015 2nd round pick to Philadelphia (via L.A. Clippers to Washington) [L.A. Clippers-New Orleans, 12/14/2011 then Denver-L.A. Clippers-Washington, 3/15/2012 then Denver-Philadelphia-Washington, 2/20/2014]

2015 second round draft pick from Houston
Houston's 2015 2nd round pick to Philadelphia [Houston-Minnesota-Philadelphia, 12/19/2014]

still a ways to feb deadline, but i wouldn't be surprised to see morey and ainge do a deal for either wright or bass or capela involved along with houston expirings.

Any trade just for the sake of trading for the Rockets. Good pickup of an additional pick for Philly. Decent for the Wolves.
