Great work as always, Smitty!

Obviously for Utah there's only one name on the list that matters. I suspect the Jazz would like to keep Kanter but it depends on a few factors:
1) Obviously, what he's going to get paid. If someone decides to throw a mega-offer at him, how committed are the Jazz, really?
2) What happens in the 2015 draft. Most of the talent at the top are big men, and if the Jazz end up with a good pick (very likely), that could affect the decision-making process.

I have to say, if they land a top 3-5 pick, I think Kanter is gone. This draft is so deep in big men, that the Jazz might be better moving on with a younger, cheaper option. Because Kanter is big, fairly young, and not useless, he'll get around 8 million from someone. So many teams are desperate for young, talented big men.

Considering he's a premier defensive guard, I think he'll get somewhere in the 6-8 million range. Definitely 6, but maybe as high as 8, depending on where the Cap ends up at.

Foye is on a fully non-guaranteed contract, so I need to add him to that section. Good catch. But he's not an expiring contract per se.

One thing that I think is that Marc Gasol will go to the New York Knicks. There is not a reason he shouldn't, his brother Pau has told him a lot about Phil Jackson and how his method works and plus after losing Tyson Chandler the Knicks need a new center. He would also complement Carmelo in scoring and take some of the scoring burden of Carmelo's shoulders. Also he is not going to stay in Memphis, they aren't going to reach the conference finals this year and they won't win a ring for some while now. The Western Conference is too strong for the Grizzlies to win a ring. The West has the Warriors who are going to win the ring this year and the Clippers, Thunder, Mavericks, Rockets, and the Trail Blazers. Plus the Grizzlies wouldn't be able to beat some of the Eastern Conference teams such as the Bulls, Raptors, and Wizards. So Gasol is going to realize he has no chance of wining a ring in Memphis so that is one factor that will make him sign elsewhere. Also with the Knicks he as a bigger chance of getting endorsements because New York is a storied franchise and also it has a big market. Another factor is that New York can offer him a lot of money and can offer him more than Memphis after getting rid of J.R. Smith's huge salary and Iman Shumpert. In the end Gasol will sign for the Knicks because it will give him a better shot at reaching the conference finals in a very weak Eastern Conference, he will be able to learn and trust Phil Jackson's method, he will get more money, and better chance at endorsements.

If they get the chance they might trade of Nerlens Noel or if they land a high enough draft pick they might try to snag Jahlil Okafor or Karls Anthony Towns Jr. but that is only if they get a 1-3 draft pick which is unlikely due to Philadelphia, New York, and Minnesota having much worse records than Utah. However if they do land a top 5 draft pick they could target Myles Turner if Okafor and Towns are gone.

Just a suggestion - it might be more useful to break it down by player position instead of by current team.

Thx for the good work.

I thought about that too. Mostly, I didn't want to get in to arguments about if a guy is a Guard or Forward. Or Point Guard or Shooting Guard. Also, my database is set up by team, so it is easier for me to maintain this post off the list I already have.
