Draft Day Trade: Jabari Parker for Rudy Gobert

Post#1 » by StaticRoar » Sun Apr 26, 2015 12:38 am

Simple swap.

MIL gets: Rudy Gobert
UTAH gets: Jabari Parker and #17 Overall 2015 Draft Pick

Why for Milwaukee?
The Bucks are loaded with promising wings with Giannis and Middleton. Jabari could play as an undersized PF, but his talents are probably best suited as a SF. Trade him for a future DPOY in Gobert and form one of the all-time great defensive teams for years to come. As you know, the Bucks love length, and a lineup of MCW, Middleton, Giannis, Henson, and Gobert would make up the longest team in NBA history.

Why for Utah?
Bring the Mormon back to Utah. Jabari was the #2 overall pick not too long ago and for a city that doesn't attract star FAs, Jabari could certainly fill that void for his whole career in Utah. Fill a need at wing and use the #12 or #17 pick to get a PF/C in this year's "big man" draft.

Draft Day Trade: Jabari Parker for Rudy Gobert

Post#3 » by KuruptedCav » Sun Apr 26, 2015 12:52 am

Last I checked, Utah has a pretty solid 3-4 tandem. Rudy is cheap, long, and defensive.

I think Favors for Parker would make more sense to pair offensive player with range with a defensive center with length in Utah. Leaves Utah without a center. In Milwaukee, it'd be to accelerate the curve and define them defensively.

Favors can play center in the East, but not so much in the west.

Utah would definitely say no.
Gobert is not replaceable, and Hayward and Hood have looked pretty good this year.

Bucks would maybe have the best defense of all time. Pretty tempting offer, I think I say no though. We can find a defensive center while still keeping our 20+ ppg scorer in Parker

It's near impossible for the Jazz to quickly find another dude like Rudy, I'll have to say no.

Seems a no to Utah, and a maybe for Milwaukee. Really depends what you see in Jabari.

I can see both sides saying no but the value is there. Jazz really need Gobert's D and the Bucks need Jabari to lift our **** offense.

Parker plays the same position as Utah's best player. The value pretty clearly leans toward the Bucks. I'd toss Henson in to make it closer but it just doesn't make sense positionally for the Jazz.

I wouldn't do it. Although in a hypothetical sense, with Gobert and Giannis, the bucks could score 65 points and still win a few games. That much length on one team should be illegal.

Not sure exactly what you are trying to say, but while they'd struggle offensively... They would probably have one of the best defensive squads ever.

considering he scored 12 ppg, a bit of a stretch to call him a 20ppg scorer just yet

Never knew that the new Utah kid was so overrated. I wouldn't trade Jabari alone for him if I had him on my Lakers.

You mean the 22 year old center who averaged once he became the starter 11.1 ppg/13.4rpg/2.6bpg/1.8apg/1 spg shooting 60% from the field? The guy who was the 5th best rebounder by percentage in the NBA, had the 8th best offensive rating, the 5th best defensive rating, the highest block percentage, had the 16th highest PER, was the best rim protector in the NBA, and who was the anchor of a team who played the best defense in the league BY FAR when he started? As a polynesian I really do love Jabari but he just suffered a devastating injury, and Gobert has as high an upside defensively as almost any young prospect I can remember.
