NYK/MIL/SAC

Post#1 » by ORANGEandBLUE » Mon May 25, 2015 9:19 pm

SAC gets: #4 (Mudiay), THJ
MIL gets: Stauskus, Calderon
NYK gets: #6 (Winslow), Henson, Ilyasova

Why for SAC: gets Mudiay to run Karl's up-tempo offense. Gives up Stauskus but he i redundant with McLemore there.

Why for MIL: Moving Henson and Ilyasova gives them space at the 4 for Giannis and Parker. Stauskus and Calderon give them much-needed shooting on the perimeter.

Why for NYK: trades down to take the more NBA-ready player in Winslow. Henson and Ilyasova give them solid defenders at the 4 to put alongside Monroe, assuming he signs.

I can't see the Bucks eating Calderon's deal and giving away 2 quality bigs just for Stauskas. And I even kinda like Stauskas.

Bucks are just in this deal to add value to the Knicks because nothing about this makes sense for them. And I even kinda like Calderon.

Also too good for the Kings who somehow go from 6 to 4 just by swapping Stauskas for THJ. Stauskas alone shouldn't get you from 6 to 4 especially not when there appears to be a clear tier drop between those draft spots.

What if Calderon/Ilyasova are taken out and SAC sends a marginal future pick to MIL?

I don't totally hate it, but the value isn't there.

I'd cut the Knicks out. I'd rather stay at 6 and get Ersan and Henson for Stauskas and a Calderon level player than walk away with only #4. If Mudiay or Porzingis go top 3 then maybe I'd be interested in buying up to 4, but not for Mudiay. He's a bad fit in SAC, we need better shooting in the backcourt to play off Boogie and Gay.
