It was Minnesota or nowhere. I'm assuming it is for relatively low money. Good deal for the Wolves. He'll be a good mentor for their young guys, especially Towns.

Pretty sure that ownership wouldn't go for that as I think that makes Minny a tax team. Also couldn't be reported as a 2-year deal with that structure I don't believe.

I don't believe? Yeah, that would definitely violate the max increase decrease of 7.5%.

Still haven't seen the money, but it has been reported as a deal with no options, a straight 2 years.

Obviously he wants to keep playing, and the Wolves are happy to give a "thanks for everything" contract to him. If they can get his competitive fire to rub off on Towns, watch out.

Yeah it looked like his competitive fire already rubbed off on Wiggins post-allstar break last season.

I think its less a Thank You and more a signing bonus for his inevitable FO role.

I just hope he handles the losing and rookie type mistakes better than Kobe has. I think he will, but I know constant losing and poor play is going to get to him this year. Guy is too competitive and too proud for it not to.

It's basically making him player/assistant coach for a few years before he transitions to ownership. He knows what he's in for. This is more stewardship of the franchise and trying to put it into a long term good situation. He will be a part owner shortly after he's retired barring something happening in the next couple years to change that. I anticipate you'll see Flip and KG at some point as head of a group that purchases it from Taylor or Taylor's estate/family. That's probably close to a done deal behind the scenes.
