Jeff Green and Courtney Lee immediately come to mind. Jared Dudley and Aaron Afflalo as well (with maybe Deron Williams?).

If you guys give Joe Johnson or Eric Gordon huge deals, I admit that I will laugh at your expense.

Courtney Lee would be great.

Would you really want to go sixteen million dollars a year on him though? I like Courtney Lee, so it would be better than doing something truly absurd, but I just don't know if I would want to give him that much money.

If I am in charge? I play it like Hinkie, slowly build a contender and take my sweet time. If it all collapses like the Clippers in the day, well, um, I goofed?

If I am charged with winning now and getting a 22 game turnaround in 1 year and winning EotY (regardless of how it looks in 2 years), I shovel money at Lee and Lin. Actually, I shovel the money at Lee and then offer Saric + LAL pick for Rubio just to totally make it overboard and so Minn cannot say no. But thats not what you asked.

I don't mind Lee at 15m. On the otherhand, I think I would rather offer 20m to Barnes and see if he grows into what I pray he does. I offer 18m to Crabbe instead of 16m to Lee. Just because its about in 3 years, not this year. Will one of those moves look dumb by then? Maybe.

If there were mutual interest, it would open up a whole lot of interesting questions about Atlanta's roster moving forward.

And if Boston misses out on Horford (Hou?) and Dwight (Atl?), what on Earth do they do?

Stay the course... Neither guy is gonna make them legit contenders anyway and I think both would be bad signings on big deals.
They do need bigs but these two are pretty average to me.
Not sure why whiteside wasn't considered or whiteaide didn't consider them.

Celtics and Amir Johnson and Jonas Jerebko agreed to push their guarantee dates back to 7/7. Gives Boston a little wiggle room.

The optimist in me hopes it means a big move is in the works. The realist says both Johnson and Jerebko will just end up back anyway. And I'm ok with that. They are both good values for their deals.

Thats big news. I'm not sold Jerebko is worth half his contract, but Amir is nice.

Why would Amir agree to that? What is in it for the players? If Boston signs somebody better you're cut and most teams will have spent their FA money. Amir probably gets more in free agency as well if he hit the market tomorrow. Only thing I can figure is that they were told their options were going to be picked up and if Boston then made a big signing they'd be traded to a situation where they'd have no control - but if they agreed to this, they'd be waived and could choose their own landing spot.

That's exactly what it must be. Either would get more on the open market. Ainge was probably like "Either agree to extend the date or I'm picking it up, keep in mind Tyler Johnson is presumed to be getting 10 mil on the open market"

For what it's worth I don't buy Detroit's interest in Harkless at all. He makes no sense for the Pistons.

I have a question, how is it that a team could become a "frontrunner" when no meetings have been held yet?

seems like the twitterverse is filled with Broussard clones

I don't really like Miami but it'll be a bit of a shame if whiteside doesn't sign with them, particular for Dallas.
They put a lot of work into him and were the team to give him his shot when no one else would and he's gonna leave for a team that doesn't put him in any better position to win.

Mark Cuban better not take his eyes off of him. I wouldn't trust Pat Riley with a dime.

If the Heat told him they were definitely giving him a max deal, I doubt he even takes meetings. But it doesn't sound like they committed to doing it.
