What can Cleveland get for a TPE in the $8-$10 million range?

Post#1 » by DowJones » Wed Jun 29, 2016 12:15 am

Cleveland is capped out this summer but they do have a decent TPE to offer. The Cavs would be looking for a rotation player at any position. Obviously this won't get you a star but maybe they can land a guy that can contribute on a 10 man rotation.

Sorry, that was the first thing that came to mind.

Looking at teams that could want to free up a little more salary for free agency... maybe Thabo, Diaw or Corey Brewer?

Koufus or MCW if Delly leaves.

Are they able to S@T? Maybe Marvin Williams if he wants to go to CLE.

You're looking for contracts which teams consider bad even with the salary cap jump - that's going to be a pretty short list, IMO.

I'd actually really like this deal. Even though brewer didn't have a good year and looked below par on defense.

I think the cavs will get someone from a team who is looking to open up cap space to sign a max guy. Maybe someone from the clippers or Hawks.

Brewer didn't have a bad year. He's had a bad career. He's a bad player. Cavs don't need to use the TPE. If they can't find a team that's willing to jettison salary for a useful player, they should let it expire. They can wait until the deadline because of the AV trade.

Koufos for a lotto protected first would make a lot of sense for both teams

Cavs don't have any firsts anytime soon and you can't add players or picks to trade exceptions.

I could see Lamb and Ross for sure. Maybe Hawes if they decide to move on from Frye.

Kyle Singler for a 2nd round pick. A career 37% 3pt shooter for LeBron to kick it out to.

Act now, while Singler is available for less than a 1st rounder!

Yeah I can't believe people are asking for picks for some of these players.
