Several teams, including Minnesota, have inquired about his availability in the past few weeks and gotten the impression Cleveland is ready to talk, according to several league sources. The Cavs won't salary-dump Shump for nothing, but given their tax situation, cutting payroll by a few million promises exponential savings.

Jones isn't really the type of experienced pg you would expect to see Cleveland trading for. Pretty much all his value is in future potential versus current production.

So I think you are collecting 2 different rumors that shouldn't combined, but here goes anyway:

Mack and Hollis thompson to Cle,
2 2nds to Utah
Tyus and Mo to Philly
Shump to Minn

Not sure if it's still viable but the Kings has shown interest in Shumpert in the past before. If I can recall correctly, in the past trade deadline, the Kings were interested in trading for Shumpert and last off-season, they almost extend an off-sheet to Shumpert before the Cavs locked him up.

BMac + Collison for Shumpert + something to make up $$$ (Liggins?)

Not sure if I would sign off to that deal.

In all honesty, It was me thinking out loud. I wouldn't necessarily do it for the Kings side just because it will make the Kings' PG situation from bad to worse.

I actually was thinking about that combination (BMac + Collison) last night but like Chuck said, who plays PG. Originally, I thought of this but not sure MIN peeps would be receptive?

SAC: Rubio
CLE: BMac + Collison

And throw in picks to grease the wheels.

Or instead of Rubio, it's Jones? That's about as roster need/money matching as I could get.

Ultimately, I think the Cavs will move a package of Mo + Jordan before entertaining moving Shump unless someone blows us away with a deal. If MIN/SAC offered this version:

MIN: Shump
SAC: Jones
CLE: Dieng + Collison

First deal, Rubio for Shump sounds like a bad deal for the Wolves. Second deal, Collison for Jones sounds like a bad deal for the Kings. Of course, the Cavs are happy with that return(s).

Cavs- Shumpert for Collison
Kings- Collison + Bmac + Richardson for Shumpert + Patty Mills + Jsimmons + Spurs 2018 1st top 20 protect
Spurs- Patty Mills + Jsimmons + 2018 1st top 20 prot for Bmac + Richardson

Cavs get their backup PG and cut 4.5mil in cap.
Kings get a lot more spacing and more competitive players. Plus a late pick
Spurs get people that are restricted and cost controlled for people due paydays at the end of the year.




Cavs- Kings- 76ers

Cavs- Shumpert for Collisons
Kings- Collison + Bmac for Shumpert + fake 2nd
76ers fake 2nd for Bmac

Kings go for value win
76ers take a flier on Bmac for a roster spot




Nuggets-Cavs-Bulls-Celtics

Nuggets- Jameer Nelson for jerebko + James Young
Cavs- Shumpert for Jameer Nelson
Bulls- Taj Gibson for Shumpert
Celtics- Jerebko + James Young for Taj Gibson

Nuggets get a prospect for Nelson. This adds a little salary for them but it clears them space at year end.
Cavs- Cut 5.2mil and get their backup PG
Bulls- get more spacing
Celtics get a quality big for the year and get an extra roster spot which they appear to need. Young seems to be the odd man out for them.



I fee like Dallas is a potential landing spot to but making salaries match for them is difficult
