Wolves | Knicks | Kings

Post#1 » by rugbyrugger23 » Thu Dec 8, 2016 2:28 pm

Kings Trade: Cousins + Temple (their worst contract?)
Kings Receive: Wiggins + Wolves 2017 1st + Jones
Kings Why: Along with 15mil in cap savings, Kings won't get a better proven centerpiece in a Cousins trade than Wiggins. Wolves 2017 1st is trending top 5 now but will be no worse than top 10.

Knicks Trade: Rose + Porzingis + 2017 1st + Choose: Dump a Contract/Player (Thomas??)
Knicks Receive: Cousins + Rubio + Payne (expiring)
Knicks Why: Phil moves the promising young Porzingis for two proven young 26yos that increase their win-now chances with Melo and roster. I for one want to see Phil work his Zen mind tricks on Cousins.

Wolves Trade: Wiggins + Rubio + Jones + 2017 1st + Payne
Wolves Receive: Porzingis + Rose + Temple + Knicks Filler + Knicks 2017 1st
Wolves Why: Big price tag for best young front court in NBA. But if Thibs wants to improve his two franchise players (fit and potential), he pays for it. Can Thibs get Rose to buy-in on mentoring Dunn into PGOF? Temple is at least a vet D specialist for Thibs.

I don't like this for the Knicks, the focus has to be on building around KP not Melo, plus Cousins and Melo are not enough to make the Knicks a legit contender. Also if the Knicks have a choice to dump 1 contract it would not be Lance Thomas when the worst contract in the league is Joakim Noah.

Great for the Wolves, decent for the Kings, and below average for the Knicks. The ship has sailed on the Knicks plan of building around Melo.

Yeah, it might look a bit better for NY with Noah in it instead of Temple. Especially when they are trading for Cousins. But I'd try to get Melo to agree to leaving before deciding to lose Zinger to build around Melo.

But I imagine most would cut the Wolves out here? Would you rather a Wiggins and a 5-10 pick or Zinger and a 10-16 pick? And Sac could throw Collison in if they need to dump Rose in it.. But I think NY could just keep Rose and force Sac to take Noah? Noah/Zinger for Cousins/Casspi-Barnes based deal? Fill in value however

Temple is not our worst contract. In fact I don't see a bad contract on the entire kings roster. Sorry. Not going to be able to de value cousins by adding an onerous contract. Gotta pony up and even then I juat don't think the Kings will trade Cousins.

If you’re committed enough, you can make any story work. I once told a woman I was Kevin Costner, and it worked because I believed it.
