Pistons/Raptors/Nuggets/Cavs

Post#1 » by Bentley1225 » Tue Feb 21, 2017 9:31 pm

Ill offer this idea based on Drummond trade rumors and reports that the Raptors offered a package for Drummond before deal with Ibaka was made.

To Detroit (Trade Drummond, cash)
-Jonas Valinciunas
-2019 Raptors 1st round pick (lottery protected)
-$4.5 million TPE from Cleveland

To Toronto (Trade Valinciunas, Joseph, 1st)
-Andre Drummond
-2019 LAL or Minnesota 2nd round pick from Cleveland

To Denver (Trade Nelson)
-Corey Joseph

To Cleveland (Trade TPE, 2nd)
-Jameer Nelson
-$1.5 million cash from Detroit to pay for Nelson

Why?
-Pistons shave $8 million off cap for multiple years while picking up a 1st round pick and getting a young C replacement
-Raptors upgrade their C position while promoting Wright to backup PG
-Denver gets a younger veteran PG than Nelson
-Cavs get a veteran PG paid for by Detroit for rest of season based on savings pro-rate Pistons get between Valinciunas and Drummond

I really hope we don't trade for Nelson. I honestly don't see him as better than Farmar. But I don't know how the Cavs view him.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

No thanks from Detroit.

His rebounding, shotblocking and post defense are easily upgrades. I can see him being effective here. You got a all star point guard in Lowry who is really good at lob passes and this deal really makes Toronto a power house in the East
