Swap out Thomas for Thornton, add Wright, and it's a fair and balanced deal (that neither would do).

Camby for Haslem is reasonably close. Marion for Mobley and TT isn't even close.

Gswhoops I don't think it's close, 2006-07 DPY 6"11 Center vs 6"8 under size PF
Camby -------------- Haslem
PPG 9.1-------------12.0
RPG 13.1-------------9.0
APG 3.3-------------1.4
SPG 1.1-------------0.8
BPG 3.6-------------0.4
not close at all :noway:

Miami is not trading Marion for Marcus Camby, and to include Haslem while taking on two more wing players who make a fortune, while giving up all our cap space for next offseason, and not even dumping Banks, is just not even an option.

The only center on LAC's roster that gets Marion is Kaman, which I recognize the Clipps will not (and should not) do.

Holy sh*t this is a bad trade. Marion >>>>>> Camby, and Haslem >>>>>>>>> terrible contracts.

Well, just going by the Miami fans on this board (are there many more than BBallFreak? lol) I don't think Miami will trade Marion this season. They seem to think that his value is the combination of a star PF and an expiring. In reality, Marion's value is either as a star OR an expiring. A team that wants him for his talent would want to keep him, and him being an expiring is a slight negative because they have to hope to re-sign him or come to an agreement on an extension beforehand (which, given his agent, Dan Fegan, isn't likely at all). A team that wants Marion for his expiring is rebuilding and wouldn't want to keep a 30+ star on their team to wreck their cap situation.

As for Marion being a PF, that's been debated over and over on these boards. His natural position is a SF, and it just wouldn't be that wise for a team to trade for him only to play him out of position at PF. I know he CAN play PF, it's just that if you're a contender, do you feel comfortable relying on Marion to cover Rasheed, Garnett, D12, or Brand? I sure don't.

Either Marion will get traded for far less than what Miami fans think he's worth, or you guys can just keep him. It might not be that bad, him and Beasley can play the 3/4 and both be interchangeable defensively. Plus, with the quickness and perimeter game of both Marion and Beasley, you could keep opposing PF's out of the paint on offense, allowing more lanes for DWade to drive.

I don't think we think that that's what he's worth.

Seriously, we want a guy who can be here longterm and make about $10 million a season. I, personally, would be thrilled with Josh Howard or Kirk Hinrich, as I've said many times. I just don't want us getting stuck with other, longterm salary along with them.

And come on, power forward? How much attention could you have possibly been paying if you think we want a power forward? You do realize that Michael Beasley and Udonis Haslem are both power forwards, right?

MIA wants a C or a PG.

With Marion, Haslem and Beasley on the team, why on earth would they want a PF for?
