Bulls/OKC: Bulls get Beef, Thunder move Durant to SF

Post#1 » by mhd » Thu Dec 11, 2008 5:11 pm

Bulls trade:
1) Hughes
2) Noah
3) Simmons (expiring)
for:
1) Collison
2) Watson
3) Joe Smith (expiring)

NEW LINEUPS:
Bulls:
PG: Rose/Watson
SG: Gordon/Thabo
SF: Deng/Nocioni
PF: Gooden/Smith
C: Collison/Gray

OKC:
PG: Westbrook/Weaver
SG: Hughes/Wilkins
SF: Durant/Mason
PF: Green/Wilcox
C: Noah/Swift

WHY FOR THE BULLS?
1) Collison gives them some much needed beef in the middle who provide a solid 10 and 8 a night.
2) Watson gives them an upgrade at backup PG.
3) Joe Smith gives them a solid vet PF.

WHY FOR THE THUNDER?
1) Hughes allows Durant to move to his natural position of SF.
2) They get close to max space for 2010 as COllison's contract is off the books.
3) Cap neutral trade as Hughes=Watson and Collison's salaries for next year.
4) Noah gives them a young bigman who needs a change of teams.

Nope, simply because Collison extends past 2010. Would rather keep the flexibility in that year than take on Collison at ~$6.85 mil.
