PHX/ ORL simple.

Post#1 » by SideSwipe » Tue Dec 30, 2008 4:42 pm

PHX trades:
Barbosa, RoLo, Dragic
PHX receives:
Gortat, Reddick, Cook, Lee, #1 unrestricted '09 (24-28)

Let me know if either team gives up too much

Phoenix gets toughness from Poland, shooting at the 4-spot to open the lane for Shaq, and young shooters at the wing. If I had to, I would consider leaving out 1 of Lee or the pick, but not both.

ORL gets an expeirienced extremely quick guard that can run the offense similarly to Jameer nelson, and backup Pietrus at the 2 spot.

Thoughts?

Remove Lee. I also would remove Goran and Marcin due to fan ties, but Otis' lovefest for Courtney knows no bounds, and he would not be traded like this.

Ooh, and I didn't catch the part about Robin Lopez {"RoLo" is new to me, but an inventive nickname). He is the heir apparent to the starting C spot, once Shaq is done in Phoenix.

Bottom line, keep it simple, SideSwipe. How about Amundson/Barbosa for Redick/Cook/1st?

Lee is understandable, but Gortat is needed in this deal. PHX gives up way too much value for what is left over.

Yeah, that's because I didn't notice Robin in the deal. Look at my next reply.

We must have posted at the same time. I woud rather match Gortat's toughness with our 2nd team. I like Lopez a lot, but PHX won't have the luxury of spending the time it will take for him to develop. He will take a year or more to really begin to develop. Gortat, may not have the upside that RoLo does, but he is more ready to contribute. He seems to be tough as nails, and the Suns, need more toughness.

i dont mind the suns as a trade partner but I dont see otis trading lee for anything less than an allstar at this point, I like "rolo" but he needs a year or two as stated. Dragic is a diener clone and otis let him walk barbosa is interesting though and would fit very well here so would you look at a redick/cook/foyle/1st for a barbosa rolo filler? Foyle would give you the toughness for a season or two off the bench and a 1st

MagicFan, thanks for the feedback. The main goal from my perspective is to land Gortat. I don't mind leaving Lee out, but Gortat is a must. Gortat, Cook, Reddick, #1 for Barbosa and Dudley (when he is available. That removes Dragic from the equation and puts in a quality player that Phoenix can't make room to use. He could slot in behind Hedo at the 3 or play the 4 in small ball. Thoughts?

not real familiar with dudley, i like barbosa but I dont think otis would give that much up, we are trying to stay under the lux tax and we are very very tight as it is, for us to re-sign hedo we will need draft pics and cheap salaries. Pull the first and you prob have a deal.

Suns dont do either. Reddick sucks, we don't need your garbage. I don't mind Cook or Lee or the first, but giving up Barbs and RoLo, just no.
